    Seplos and Deye reboot loop

First time when I got the SolarAsistant running I wanted all the data from cells and the inverter data in it. So I connected Deye to SA on one converter, and the Seplos v2 on another RS485 converter to SA. The packs went crazy - off-on-off-on, unusable. Later confirmed with Seplos and SA - it is...

Happens sometimes: seems like battery is asleep (Seplos + Deye) but keeps supplying inverter

Where did you get this list? I don't see it in my web interface. I have SUN-8K-SG04LP3, it has zero problems when L2 is 4kW and L1, L3 are 50W both on input (CT side) and output (LOAD). Your unbalance is perfectly normal. I have set 50W minimum load from the grid, and at the moment CT1= +31W...

    Solarman logger login

Maybe I am wrong, but I think the right credentials are admin / serial # of the logger. Mine is offline (again) so I can't test it at the moment.

    How to mount this?

Update: The panels are finally mounted. It was a tricky task to put the rails in the exact position. We started the first row with a string line, then put on the panels and aligned the rails. Then the second, third etc...row. We didn't use the screws provided by the seller (it was only 3 per...

    How to mount this?

Hi, Soon I'll have to install a new roof on the garage, and on top of it goes a new set of 10x 550 Wp panels. The roof is 0.6 mm ribbed steel sheet with 10 mm polyurethane insulation on the bottom side (see pics), 12 degree slope. The solar shop sent me these short rails for mounting with the...

    Solar Assistant graphs freeze up

Good luck installing it on anything except Pi and Orange Pi 3 LTS. I've tried with armbian builds for other SBCs but didn't worked out. I have a 40 core Xeon Gold server with 128G RAM sitting next to it, and can't leverage that because SA won't support VM installation. Mine died at me while...

Need help sourcing Sunsynk / Deye [EU]

I've bought from Alma solar, at the time those where the cheapest panels in EU i could find. Now they are more expensive. I still don't have any performance data as the inverter is still in the box (I'm not home to finish the job). I think my next panels purchase will be from China direct...

Need help sourcing Sunsynk / Deye [EU]

It was cheaper for me. And 8 got my inverter. But it's a pain to communicate with them. I have a feeling that it is a one man show run by a guy who is overworked and stretched in to many directions. I can't tell more about reliability than that the company is in business for a fairly long time.

Yeah they are, I've received mine on 7th of July (ordered March 15th). But I'm not home at the moment so I forgot to update.

EVE identifies Grade B cells using new marking Method [Reposting from General]

You need proof of purchase. If you didn't buy from them warranty is not even considered. And big players did not play those games. If someone is buying 100k or more cells per any time frame it has no time to play this kind of games. And they'r claims are always accepted and investigated. This...

EVE identifies Grade B cells using new marking Method [Reposting from General]

I believe they have records of what is sold and to who. And if you are trying to get replacement for something you didn't bought they'll just ignore you. Big buyers wont do that anyway, when they find a cell that's for return they'll get it reimbursed on next order. I don't see how can you get...

EVE identifies Grade B cells using new marking Method [Reposting from General]

I think EVE should set up a web service where anyone can check they'r cells QR code. You simply enter the code and the page pulls they own test data. That kills the fakes instantly. Similar to the authenticity check some manufacturers have for they products. It can show the basic test report...

    Battery terminal cleaning with scotchbrite

Yes, the oxide forms at the moment fresh aluminium is exposed to oxygen, that's moments after you clean it. But it takes time to form a thicker layer. Aluminium oxide is also incredibly hard - almost diamond hard. You can try measuring first without cleaning, but with busbar mounted, then clean...

    Battery terminal cleaning with scotchbrite

When you use the YR1035+ it's pins peirce through the oxide layer which is incredibly thin. When you place the flat busbar there is a large flat surface with oxide layer in between with no way to break through. Just a little bit of mechanical work is enough to remove the oxide, then when you...

    Low harvest problem

I've checked the manual and it doesn't list the setting for the battery PV charging current, only mains. You need to check on the inverted itself or in the manual that came with it. In the manual it has only this: From the manual it looks like the PV charging current cannot be set. I think...

Can you show how you wired the anderson connectors on the inverter side? Just take a picture of the cable connecting to the inverter.

    I'm talking about this.

    Low harvest problem

Did you changed the default maximum charge current? (30A). That's correct for 5s. The second string is not connected. Check that as soon as possible, either the cable is dangling in the breeze, or is the connector burning off the power.

    Low harvest problem

Well, the paralleling change things. I'd first disconnect the inverter and measure the voltage on the string cable. You should get the full Voc voltage. Then I'd check the actual current the panels can deliver but I suggest you leave that to the installer. Maybe you have a faulty panel...

    Low harvest problem

You are dangerously close to the maximum Voc of the inverter. I would not connect those panels to that inverter in 10S string. Very important variable is your minimum outdoor temperature in Celsius. If it come close or below +10°C at any time the panels where illuminated, there is a good chance...

    Class T details and specs

The milling machine is just making things easier and prettier. You can do most things without one. Machining electrical copper is hard and I prefer to minimise it. Electroplating is easy. I learned it from some YouTube videos, all you need is pure nickel, vinegar and a small power supply...

    Class T details and specs

For prices you can check farnell or tme. They start at xxx EUR There's not much information on that, I didn't found any accept on forums. A 16S LFP should have a short circuit current around 10kA or more, depending on internal resistance and contact/cabling resistance. I would not count on just...

    Class T details and specs

Yeah, that's one you choose when you don't plan for quick change and have a touch protection in front of it. Otherwise use the one with integrated disconnector. Don't do that! If you can't afford the proper holder just don't select this type of fuse. Btw, the proper subtype of NH is aR - check...
  26. Z

    Class T details and specs

Be careful with that. NH is used a lot in industry and distribution cabinets, they need a special carrier that's bulky and not cheap (but real good). Also, the NH rated for DC and currents available on battery packs is extremely expensive - few hundred Euros per fuse. HRC is good for solar lines...

EVE identifies Grade B cells using new marking Method [Reposting from General]

Not enough "meat" as the shell is too thin and not level enough for machining. But you can polish off the engraving with minimal material removal. Then no-one will tell the difference by visual inspection.

    32x EVE LF280K pack configuration - need second/third opinion

Thanks, If you check the drawing it shows two BMS like you said. I just didn't bother to draw the second pack. I'm not paralleling individual cells. The busbar between packs and inverter (J3) will be a heavy copper bar, probably something in the range of 60x20x250mm or bigger, resistance is not...

New EVE LF280K 16S build from Exliporc

Finally got my charger, after a long wait to FedEx to deliver. It's a TDK RKW03-150 3.3V (150A, can be set over 4V if needed). This is a photo from ebay, but it is how it looks, except I got all the screws. It definitely needs the sense wires connected and the 5k potentiometer on RV terminal...

New EVE LF280K 16S build from Exliporc

That might be. If I take the original phone shot and magnify it, it resembles damage from hot particles. The white around the circle looks like a gas condensate - not dissimilar to the solder blob on cold plastic or metal.

New EVE LF280K 16S build from Exliporc

Some day in February I've ordered 16 cells from Alibaba/Exliporc @107 USD plus shipping from EU warehouse. I was promised brand new, grade A cells. 3 Phase grid tie solar system issue

Clearly your circuits are not very well balanced. I would map all circuits and then lay out phase distribution over that. This way you can easily see what is causing imbalance and if it's possible to rewire or not. If there's one or two large loads on single phase you are out of luck. In this...
