    Will Solar charge controller work.

You would be way over panelling that SCC with those (2) panels. The listing doesn't specify the max voltage input. So I'm not sure if you could wire them in series or not. But, even in parallel they "should" stay under the max 20A. However, as Matt said, you'd be leaving a lot of power on...

Splitting Up My Home Power For Critical Backup - Opinions Please

Yes, I have the Samlex receiving AC Input from the Main panel (where the N/G Bond exists). If using a "traditional" generator transfer switch (most do not switch N and share the N/G Bond from the main source panel), there's a weird behavior that exists when passing through the AC (like a loop...

Splitting Up My Home Power For Critical Backup - Opinions Please

I'm about to do the same exact setup (except I'm using a Samlex EVO-4248SP). I told my wife if anything goes down with the "solar setup" (which Murphy's Law says will happen when I'm away hunting, etc.), she can just flip a switch to put all the critical loads back on grid. My dilemma was...

Schneider SW4048 vs Samlex EVO 4248

I now have the Samlex EVO 4248. In the process of getting things connected. I plan to use my Victron SmartShunt & Victron SCC -> VenusOS on RasPi. I can see the battery SOC and Solar Production locally or via Victron's Portal. I plan to use my Shelly EM to monitor the L1 & L2 AC outs of the...

    Lifepower4 battery automatic updater

Add me to the list who didn't get a case either... Also wondering how to tell what firmware version is loaded on it? Nothing marked in/on the box or on the updater.

Anyone else notice Victron Smart Shunt recently lost effective distance?

Any other "frequency" changes in your environment? Certain WiFi frequencies can cause interference with Bluetooth. (Possibly a Wifi access point auto changed to a different frequency?) Even other "non-tech" devices can put out interference (thinking Microwave off the top of my head. But...

    EG4 Lifepower4 included Cables

Signature Solar is telling me it's OK to parallel the two this way (since it is only two). However, they also didn't give me an answer about the gauge of the included wires... So... I'm thinking I will want to purchase bus bars to connect them to anyway (and upgrade the wires from the...

    EG4 Lifepower4 included Cables

Hi All, I just received (2) EG4 LifePower4 48v rack mount batteries. I assume the small cables that come with the batteries are meant for connecting to their server rack busbars. However, since I only have (2) batteries, I am planning on using my own rack and directly connecting the two...

    Chargeverter Availability? (Early 2024)

I actually have use case for both versions... Old version: (which I ordered) will work perfect for my off-grid cabin. When I'm running generator, I want to be charging. New version: Would work great for home where for logistical reasons I don't want to feed AC -In to my Inverter/Charger and...

    Chargeverter Availability? (Early 2024)

So I placed an order for the original version a little over a week ago. Was informed it is on backorder. What version will I be getting?

Nevermind... I bought the chargeverter :)

    EG4 48V/1200W IP65 Charger?

Hey everyone, Was about to order the EG4 Chargeverter when I noticed SigSolar has a "EG4 48V/1200W IP65 Charger" that is quite a bit cheaper. Does anyone have any experience with this charger? Thanks, JAS

    Samlex EVO 4248?

Well, I ordered the 4248 last night from donrowe.com... Hoping to catch a sale again on batteries within the next few weeks. Thinking I will go with rack mount batteries instead of the powerpro. Will be cheaper to add on in the future and also easier to increase the capable amp draw. It will...

    Samlex EVO 4248?

I wasn't initially.. but enough people chimed in to make me 2nd guess myself I'd be interested in specific products? I've talked with a few different plumbers and well guys and none of them know about anything that can be added (easily anyway) to an existing 240v deep well pump (I'm over 475'...
  15. J

    Samlex EVO 4248?

Yes, ? But, I will only start with a single unit and if that can handle the well pump, I'll have no need for a 2nd unit.

    Samlex EVO 4248?

Update: Spoke with support at Samlex today. (Awesome support! Answered within hours and gave me his cell number to call him back!) I asked about parallel capabilities since I'm unsure if a single unit can power my well pump. Although he was confident the single unit can start the well pump...

    EP Cube Review

Personally, I would love to see you review these new "whole house" systems. I'm currently in the market for something along these lines and it's hard to find detailed information about them. Specifically, I have a 240v 1.5HP deep well pump set down 500' and would love to know in advance what...

    Transfer Switch or subpanel?

While I 100% agree, I'm now concerned that if something were to happen that involved my insurance company, they may decline any claim because of the manufacturers recommendation... ?‍♂️

    Transfer Switch or subpanel?

Well... I guess this is the official answer from the horse's mouth... I had contacted Reliance Controls and asked them about using the ProTran permanently in "Gen" mode: Here is their response: The ProTran/2 is designed for Generator or Inverter power as a back-up. Not as a main source. It is...

    Transfer Switch or subpanel?

Thanks for all the feedback everyone. Yes, I thought about this last night as I was going to sleep and realized I could do an interlock in the separate critical loads panel for much less expensive than the Reliance panel with the transfer switch built-in. The whole ATS has me concerned over...

    Transfer Switch or subpanel?

So how would I (or my wife in my absence) revert to grid when the Inverter takes a sh$t? (Murphy's Law). The only way I know would be either also wire in a transfer switch (more money and more wall space) or start pulling circuits out and putting them back in the main panel (what a PITA). The...

    Transfer Switch or subpanel?

Good feedback! I don't currently have any GFCI/AFCI breakers in my main panel. Just GFCI receptacles were code required (at the time our house was built). I guess I'll talk with my electrician to see if he thinks there would ever be a need to support that... The ProTran "may" be easier to...

    Transfer Switch or subpanel?

Hi All, Getting ready to purchase an EG4 6000XP & PowerPro Battery. Trying to decide between a 10 circuit Pro-Tran style manual transfer switch vs. a subpanel (with a manual transfer switch back to main feed) like the Reliance TRK0505DR I like the idea of the Pro-Tran style since I can switch...

    EG4 6000XP Operating Temperature Range

Hmm... I currently have an MPP 1012LV-MS in my Garage. Been planning on replacing it with a 6000XP. The MPP also has an operating range above freezing. However, I asked Ian (Watts247) about it and he claimed they have many units in the field operating well below freezing without issue. I've...

    New EG4 6000XP Install

domain resolves to: 15.197.219.181 (this time). GeoIP says it is in Seattle Traceroute shows a final hop (before the end destination) of 15.230.204.11. GeoIP says it is in Ashburn, VA. Can't wait to hear where it really is :)

    Ecoflow/Bluetti Home Backup vs. EG4

Just simply installing cement board on the wall where I would mount it (and probably trying to paint it to make it look nicer) Regarding the DPU & SHP2... I've gathered bits and pieces from YouTube and the FB Group. The panel has normal breakers, but also has relays internal to control...

    Yes, via critical loads panel

    Ecoflow/Bluetti Home Backup vs. EG4

I don't think there is any ability to hardwire the Delta Pro. But, you could make a cable (or buy a premade and cut one end off) that goes from the 30A receptacle on the DP and hardwire the other end into the ATS.

LV6548 shutting down with EG4 Chargeverter & blown Solar Assistant

That makes no sense??? Are they saying you should shut off your system in order to charge?! And wouldn't the power being input from the CV go straight to the loads and any excess would then charge the batteries?

6000XP parallel question regarding AC input

Question: If running (2) 6000XPs in parallel and using AC charging/passthrough, do both inverters need to be connected to AC in (or can just one be used)?
