XiaoXiang BMS Spontaneously resets Remaining Capacity display

I did the test once and it was two years ago so I don't remember that much about it. I did record this: 13.331V 90% SOC 13.327V 80% SOC 13.325V 70% SOC (after 24 hrs rest) 13.174V 60% SOC (after 24 hrs rest) 13.164V 50% SOC (after 24 hrs rest) 13.160V 40% SOC (after 23 hrs rest) 13.102V 30%...

    JBD/Xiaoxiang BMS Apps List

I haven't used it but it appears that it maybe has something to do with remote viewing of BMS/pack status. Who knows, maybe even remote configuration. There's a related Jiabaida cloud login page in either Chinese or English. Being able to see or maybe even configure the BMS remotely would be...

Current calibration on Overkill/JBD/similar smart BMS

Use FUNCTION SETTING -> RESET CAPACITY to bring it back inline with your 20/40/60/80% voltage set point choices after periods of no use or low current use. Your 20/40/60/80% set points need to be accurate though or your reported SOC might be way off. Mine are confirmed resting voltages after...

    JBD BMS incorrect voltage readings

JBD BMS voltage readings can be calibrated using JBDTools with UART box & Windows PC and maybe also with the IOS app (not 100% sure on that).

    JBD/Xiaoxiang BMS Apps List

There are many app that work with JBD BMS units. All apps in this screenshot came from Google Play (except for xiaoxiang 3.1.1026 & XiaoXiang 3.2.000). Carplounge is still my favorite for full access. I also use Liontron Multi, BelyEnergy & Aollithium.

The downloads direct from jiabaida.com have been updated to 2.0 in English - It's now Android version 3.2.000.30 updated from Android version 3.1.1026.27. It's not on Google Play however. It's shown here connected to a small 18Ah battery pack I have. It doesn't look like you can change...

    Help interpret my BMS screen

The SOC estimation has been describe as Method 1 - Voltage based and Method 2 - Coulomb Counting here: https://diysolarforum.com/threads/jbd-overkill-bms-state-of-charge.28329/ Changing settings or using the Reset Capacity option forces the SOC estimate to be based on your 20/40/60/80% voltage...

    Looks like you can use the alternate wiring method because the 8S 150A board has the alternate connection points. There's B1, B2, B3, B4, B5, B6 & B7 (approx 3.2V, 6.4V, 9.6V, 12.8V, 16V, 19.2V & 22.4V) connection points on the 8S boards. To complete it, B- is 0V & B+ is 25.6V. The two...

jbd / overkill bms - state of charge

FUNCTION SETTING -> RESET CAPACITY brings it back inline with your 20/40/60/80% voltage set point choices. Tested & confirmed resting voltages accurately reflect SOC (24hrs or so at rest). That's the only time voltage is useful for determining SOC in my opinion. With cylindrical cells, I'm...

What voltages did you choose for 20%, 40%, 60% & 80% SOC settings? My understanding is that the method 1 you describe is used whenever Reset Capacity is triggered or a settings change is made or when reaching full (and maybe also when reaching empty). Method 2 is used during normal use...

    JBD BMS X 3 - will I need 3 apps?

For the full access JBD xiaoxiang based apps on Android (including Carplounge on Google Play), go to App Setting and enter a unique name in the Device Model field for each BMS. It's easier that way to choose which one you want to connect to. For multiple simultaneously BT polling...

Xiaoxiang BMS app capacity launched to full capacity without single watt going in

Post screen captures of other settings. Maybe there will be a clue there as to what's causing this. Also, try re-entering your 20/40/60/80% voltage set points. I've used RESET CAPACITY several times and it always brings SOC it back inline with my tested 20/40/60/80% voltage settings.

Xiaoxiang BMS app capacity launched to full capacity without single watt going in

Use FUNCTION SETTING -> RESET CAPACITY to bring it back inline with your 20/40/60/80% voltage set point choices. With Single cut-off voltage set to 3V you can discharge down to 12V (3V*4 cells in series = 12V).

    Questions about Xiaoxiang App

Reset Capacity uses the 20%, 40%, 60%, 80% voltage set points. Those entries have to be accurate for it to work well. On mine, it's 0.092VPC difference to cover that entire range! I chose to use resting voltages for the 20%, 40%, 60%, 80% set points. I use Reset Capacity only when the battery...

XiaoXiang BMS Spontaneously resets Remaining Capacity display

When the battery is in active use SOC must be a direct result of the beginning SOC and then coulomb counting. I say must be because SOC% doesn't plummet when a very large load pulls the voltage down. It's smart enough to ignore the temporary voltage drop. I've settled on using - FUNCTION...

XiaoXiang BMS Spontaneously resets Remaining Capacity display

Voltage is stable at around 24hrs after a discharge so I think the that if the 80/60/40/20 voltage set points are accurate then SOC will be accurate. Voltage, current & perhaps temperature settings would all have to accurate also. In the Xiaoxiang App I used - FUNCTION SETTING -> RESET...

XiaoXiang BMS Spontaneously resets Remaining Capacity display

Yes, that's exactly it. It does take time but I don't know how else it could be accomplished with a high level of accuracy. Copying someones settings might be close enough if the LFP cells are similar age, type & quality. With the exact test load known then it's easy to estimate when each...
