Is the EG4 18Kpv the best choice for my new installation? Your thoughts please!

Sounds good, Well, the 30 kwh would be accurate with the whole house on the grid and includes 110v and 240v loads. But being I am only going to use the 18k for the 240v loads, I would have to somehow separate that from the 30kwh to figure out what that draw would be. What I am hoping is that (3)...

Is the EG4 18Kpv the best choice for my new installation? Your thoughts please!

well, the 30 kwh of course includes my whole house on the grid. During the day or whenever I run it, all my 110 loads would be run with my other inverter, not the 18k. So it is hard to tell by my meter what just those 240v loads would be.

Is the EG4 18Kpv the best choice for my new installation? Your thoughts please!

Just trying to figure out how many eg4 batteries I need to work with the 18k to make it through the night running my well pump, hotwater heater and heat pump.

Quite a system you have there. Well, with all you are running. I am more convinced that one 18k can run my 3/4 hp well pum, hot water heater, 2.5 ton heat pump / ac with soft start, dryer and range. No 110 loads. Only those (5) 240v loads and only the well pump and hot water heater will be the...

Is the EG4 18Kpv the best choice for my new installation? Your thoughts please!

Well, I checked the reading last night at 5pm and had 64272 and this morning at 9am it was 64300. So I multiplied that by 3 and divided that number by 88%. So the kwh usage 64300 - 64272 = 28 x 3 = 84 divided by 88% = 95.45. So I am not sure where to go next with these figures to be able to...

EG4 new AIO rated 12K output and 18kPV aka "EG4-18Kpv-12LV"

Thanks, I would be in pretty much the same position if I chose the Schneider too I suppose.

Is the EG4 18Kpv the best choice for my new installation? Your thoughts please!

Thank you, you have a great 4th also. The heat pump / AC unit is a brand new (3 weeks old) 2.5 ton Carrier unit. Sits outside and provides central air to the house. It works with my furnace.

EG4 new AIO rated 12K output and 18kPV aka "EG4-18Kpv-12LV"

Oh, sorry, must have forgotten a word there. I will be off grid only. 18k will NOT be tied to the grid.

Is the EG4 18Kpv the best choice for my new installation? Your thoughts please!

Thanks so much James: I appreciate that feedback / info. I have a system in place now taking care of all my 110 v loads. But getting that 240 volt load taking care of takes a bit more research. So either the 18K or the Schneider would only be doing my 240 volt loads. Looking at people installing...

Just glanced on the interent for basic costs and your right. About the same for a heat pump water heater or an eg4 rack battery.

No, only monthly. I guess I would have to call them and ask if they could provide it.

    EG4 18KPV Grid Draw

Thanks for that follow up info Gavin. Enjoy your videos! Here I would only be running my 240v loads - NO 120 volts loads. And of course, like you stated in one of your videos, one has to be smart on what you can run and not run. So my main unit that I would not have any choice in is the well...

That would be nice, but mine went bad last year and I just installed a brand new one last fall. A bit of money too. oh well

    Decisions, choices

Thanks for the reply. I have done the research on the well and hot water heater and AC unit. Have thrown that out there to signature solar and they said that either unit would handle it. The biggest difference for me is that the Schneider has quite a nice surge capacity. If you add the other...

Looking for advice on new house build

I am wanting to run my 3/4 hp deep well pump, 2.5 ton heat pump / AC unit and my hot water heater. Also my dryer and range - all 240 volt. I am trying to decide on the Shneider XW pro 6.8 or the new EG4 18k pv. I have been told that either one of these would handle all these 240 volt loads. The...

EG4 6500EX and Generator Transfer Switch

Because I already have two other inverter units wired to transfer switches that are then wired to certain circuits in my main panel. If I wired the 6000ex into the full panel, then I am not sure what dangers that would pose when I switched on my other inverters when needed. I am only going to...

EG4 6500EX and Generator Transfer Switch

Thanks, I have downloaded the manuals & both talk about the black, red, white & ground wires. but I only see 3 terminals on the 6500. If I went to the 6500 setup, I would be doing (2) units for split phase 240, but then it becomes even more confusing how I would hook up a transfer switch.

EG4 6500EX and Generator Transfer Switch

The EG4 6500EX and 6000EX are set up to wire into your main panel. But I want to connect my unit to a Transfer Switch that has the Nema L14 / 30 amp connector. How do you wire an EG4 6500 to that switch? I would need to have a female Nema L14 connector on the other end of the wire in order to...

long solar MC4 cable run and solar panels

I just received a reply from Bluetti on the amp / watt input of hte machine I have. They limit it at 15 amp / 900 watts. They said if I exceed that, the AC200MAX will automatically drop it to 15 amp / 900 watts. I had asked them, the 5 panel question and they said to go ahead. Voltage input...

long solar MC4 cable run and solar panels

It will get about 25 below zero in its worst conditions, which would be about 3 weeks or so in the winter. In the summer it can get in the upper 90 degree range in the hottest times for a few weeks in the summer.

temp is -40 cel to 90 above c We can get as cold as 25 below for a couple of weeks in the winter to upper 90's for a few weeks in the summer, otherwise the winter will be 20 above to 15 below for the lows in the winter & upper 60's to upper 80s in the summer.

long solar MC4 cable run and solar panels

Thanks for the info: I will stay with (4) 12 volt / 200 watt solar panels then with 150 foot of 8 gauge wire. I plan on using pvc conduit rather than steel. Is that a good idea? Also wondering if I could wire in another 200 watt 12 volt panel. I know the voltage would still be under the limit I...

long solar MC4 cable run and solar panels

Is it a good idea to go with 8 ga wire? or should I stay with 10 ga? How would I figure the ampacity of the wire? The 10 ga I have on hand has a voltage rating of DC:1.8KV / AC: 0.6 - 1KV I don't know anymore than that. As I am looking for that 8 ga wire I had found earlier, I am now thinking it...
