Signature Solar refusing to give me support regarding the growatt es5000 and autotransformer.... Is this normal?

That's a pretty standard response. It's on you to make sure everything is hooked up right.

Sol-Ark 12k Problem Voltage spikes and Output Power to Zero

I've had issues similar to this with my 12k. Issue 1: PV1 and PV2 would read different voltages, amps and watts after a firmware update. I had sol-ark roll back the firmware version and it fixed the problem. Issue 2: In the app, the graph under the plants tab would show something similar to...

So sad to see the days getting shorter...

My production has dropped from 75kwh a day to 70kwh a day but my usage has reduced by about 30% since it's no longer 5000 degrees every day. So, even though I'm producing slightly less, I'm consuming much much less (35% less roughly). On average clear days I'm over producing by 20kwh compared to...

SPECULATION: Inflation Reduction Act and Solar, batteries, technology future

Renewable energy is great. I like the idea but there are a few problems with this bill. 1. American made renewable manufacturing and infrastructure should have been #1 priority in the bill and 50% tariffs minimum on Chinese made imports. In its current form the bill promotes foreign products...

    Adding Schneider XW Pro

I saw you already posted in my thread about these AO Smith hybrid water heaters. I would really recommend you try another brand. I have heard good things about the Rheem hybrids from word of mouth.

    Signature Solar disappointing service

Have you ever been on Reddit?? It's all the above x3.

My experience with hybrid water heaters and a warning to stay away from AO Smith hybrid water heaters

Probably but I can still tell a difference on power consumption with the HP isn't working. That's the only reason I even realized the first HP wasn't working because our consumption was waay up and I had to figure out what was sucking up so much power. I may have messed up when planning my...

My experience with hybrid water heaters and a warning to stay away from AO Smith hybrid water heaters

Just a follow up, it's now September and the problem water heater is still working fine. (*Knocks on wood)

Colorado utility company locks people out of their thermostats

If you ever see a house all by itself on top of a mountain and solar panels with a big "FU go away" flag on said mountain surrounded by a mote full of sharks with laser beams attached to their head.. it's probably me, for reasons mentioned in this thread.

    Sol-Ark 12K and EG4LL battery communications

I can see that. I put mine in an enclosed box just for that reason but I also don't discharge them daily. They're just used as backup power with the occasional discharge about one a month for exercise.

    Sol-Ark 12K and EG4LL battery communications

If you just manually program the sol-ark it works fine with eg4 batteries. You really don't NEED coms.

Completely disagree. He has a valid point, unlike your post.

Don’t place panels flat on the grass

Hmmm.... Now planning a fully flat solar system so I never have to cut my grass again..

Buddy asking if his quote is "reasonable"

That's pretty reasonable, honestly. Like others said, it's not the best deal ever but it's definitely not on the overly expensive side.

    Signature Solar disappointing service

I had the same plan. Luckily, my first shipment showed up on a short truck with a hyrdaulic tail gate and unloading was a breeze. The second shipment (the shipment to replace the broken panels in the first shipment FOR FREE) was a pain in the rear. It showed up on a 53ft box truck with no...

    Signature Solar disappointing service

Let me guess.... Your solar panels arrived damaged then you contacted signature solar to get replacements sent, they refused and just refunded your money for the damaged panels like their policy states they do and printed all over their website?

    Schneider XW vs Sol-Ark

That's a good question for Sol-Ark support which you can contact 7 days a week for any questions or help.

    That looks really nice.

    Schneider XW vs Sol-Ark

I don't mean to sound like I'm bashing Schneider either I just have a problem with these YouTube videos and how misleading they are. The surge rating of the Schneider is really cool. Honestly, that's the only area they out shine my Sol-Ark IMHO and it's not a very important area for me in my...

    Schneider XW vs Sol-Ark

I just tried it with my 1.9hp 120v air compressor. The sol-ark shut off almost immediately but it will handle my 1700watt air fryer no problem. Interestingly the inverter didn't shut down when I tried the air compressor with the air fryer already running. It still couldn't start it but it didn't...

    Schneider XW vs Sol-Ark

Yeah I was a subscriber but not after that video. Honestly, I don't have a problem with either brand. My problem is them flat out lying.

Eg4 Lifepower4 battery is ticking on start

I had this same ticking problem once when I shut off the battery breaker from my sol-ark (not under load). I ended up having to shut down the sol-ark and batteries, then turn on the batteries, then the sol-ark. Everything has been fine since then.

    Strange

IDK where you are at but here it's hot AF and production will suffer because of that.

    Signature Solar wins... I lose.

What could possibly go wrong with selling already dirt cheap panels at a discount, then eating shipping costs afterwards?

My experience with hybrid water heaters and a warning to stay away from AO Smith hybrid water heaters

I saw a post about hybrid water heaters in here and I just thought I would make my own thread to warn people about the AO Smith hybrid water heaters. I have 2 of them, one in my 4 car garage and the other in my 6x12ft laundry room. The one in my laundry room randomly started throwing a ECC...

    Hybrid Water Heater

Do not buy AO Smith and no, it will not cool a 3 car garage. I have one in my 4 car garage and it won't make a dent in the temperature unless it's already cold and when it gets around 55-50 degrees you can't really use the heat pump anyways and have to switch to the electric heat coils.

    Hybrid Water Heater

DO NOT BUY AO SMITH!! I have 2 of these. They're both AO Smith 50 gallon hybrid water heaters. The idea behind them is great, they really don't use much power, like 500 watts ish when running off the heat pump. My problem is AO Smith. One of my heaters at about 1 year old the heat pump stopped...

CT current sensors connection options on a Solark12k

When it does the test it back feeds the grid from the batteries. It only does a couple hundred watts for 2 or 3 seconds. I guess that is how it can tell which line is which.

What do you think, Battery prices going up or down by 2023?

No one knows. We could enter a global recession and inventories would sky rocket making prices drop. We could keep having supply chain issues and trade wars and prices could sky rocket. We could get ww3 started and none of that matters. I say, get the batteries now. Worst case they get...
