    Sig Solar shipping

Can anyone from Signature Solar tell me the nearest place to Douglas, WY they can ship to? Or even Lusk, WY. I'm about 1/2 way in between. I could even go to Casper if I had to. I was going to order a couple EG4 48v batteries.

wondering why I kept tripping the breaker between the panels and the charge controller.

Here's a video from the other day. I have seen it get as high as 88A.

Thanks for all the help. I have a 100A breaker ordered and should be here Monday. It is a din-rail mount.

wondering why I kept tripping the breaker between the panels and the charge controller.

That's good to know. I was using the mppt mode solar on/off in config basic to turn if off to give the breaker a rest.

wondering why I kept tripping the breaker between the panels and the charge controller.

My system is: (12) 340W panels in 3 strings Midnite Classic Lite 150 cc Outback VFX3648 Inverter (4) Signature Solar Lifepower4 48v 5kw batteries I've had this system working since May and it has just started getting really cold here in WY. The day before yesterday, it was mostly cloudy so...

wondering if something's wrong with my EG4 batteries

I purchased 2 of these about a month before the other 2 and noticed the 1st 2 seem to charge/discharge at a different rate. I recently put some buss bars on them and I'm waiting for days that are sunny so I can get up early and run the space heaters and what not to run them down and watch them...

EG4 Battery - Address mapping / BMS Tool issues

I'm not sure how to do a PM here. Do I mouse over the avatar and click 'Start Conversation'? jberger: I have a Rpi but I guess Solar Assistant only works with MPP. I'm using a Midnite Classic 150/Outback Inverter.

EG4 Battery - Address mapping / BMS Tool issues

this guy says he has a solution, I haven't done the wiring yet. I'm going to fiddle with it later. I'll let you know if I have any results. Apparently, there's 2 different version of the BMS software. I can't seem to find the one shown in the manual.

EG4 Battery - Address mapping / BMS Tool issues

I have 4 of the EG4's and I could not get the BMS software to work. I see a lot of people having trouble with it. I don't think it's worth a crap. It looks like it was written by some flunkie in China. No documentation. I just watch the SOC lights and hope for the best.

wondering if something's wrong with my EG4 batteries

Before I added the 2 new ones, I charged each one till the charger quit and the lights went solid. They were all at around 54vdc. The 2 or 3 times I charged the 2 with the generator I watched the inverter stop charging. The inverter draws 20A from the generator.

wondering if something's wrong with my EG4 batteries

Yes, I sat and watched it when all 4 were lit and the right-most one was flashing and they all came up to 100% at the same time. That told me the BMS's were working. I'll have to find the link for the shut meter I bought. Not a real expensive one.

wondering if something's wrong with my EG4 batteries

I have (4) EG4 48v batteries running a VFX3648 (Outback) Inverter. I don't have a charge controller yet, so I'm running off the batteries only. I had only 2 batteries for about 2 weeks and then I recently added 2 more. Before I added the two new ones, I used a 48v charger to charge each one up...

EG4 batteries going into fault condition when connecting to inverter

OK, I hadn't thought of doing that. That makes more sense. I'll try that right now and let you know how it goes.

EG4 batteries going into fault condition when connecting to inverter

I have (2) EG4 48v 100ah batteries from SS. They are in parallel and charged to ~53vdc. I have a shutoff switch with a fuse going to a VFX3648 inverter. I'm using a Classic Lite 150 cc which is not in the circuit. I turn on the breakers for the batteries and everything looks fine, but when I...

how to hook up shunt meter

So then since I have 2 of these shunt meters, I could put the other one between the inverter and battery with the... (now I'm really confused).

how to hook up shunt meter

OK then it's a good thing I asked because I would have thought the charge controller is the power and the battery is the load since the cc is charging the battery.

how to hook up shunt meter

I have a DC shunt meter which (the shunt) needs to be hooked up at the DC power (labeled A) and the DC load (labeled B). I just need to know which side of the battery to charge controller (positive or negative) to place the shunt, or does it make any difference?

HELP....I hope I didnt ruin my new EG4s

I just bought a pair of these EG4's. The manual says they are shipped at 75% charged. I bought a 48vdc charger. When I get ready to mount them, I will charge each one to 56v (recommended) so they are both within 0.1v of each other.

Outback VFX3648 inverter output ac breaker

Hey, I just dug out my Outback VFX3648 which has been sitting in the box for 10 years and I realized I need about a 90A ac breaker to the breaker box and the manual says not to use a double pole breaker to power both sides of the breaker box with the same 120VAC. Would it be in bad taste to use...

idle consumption - does it matter if loads are running all night?

I was considering either the MPP or Growatt all-in-one inverter over the 48v Midnite Classic Lite I have (but haven't installed yet) and read that the MPP and Growatt have a high idle consumption whereas some nicer ones, like Xantrax have a low idle consumption but can cost 3x to 5x more. I'm...
