    Which panels

That gleaming review of NewPowa panels has just about convinced me to make the purchase....they fit the space I have but had not seen any "real world" reviews...thank you for the information...I'm ready to purchase panels now.

    Which panels

Thank you for the great advice. I will try to purchase the 250 watt or the 220 watt panels and go from there. I would like to be as self-sufficient as possible without shore power. I have the ability to connect to shore power now but free charging is the goal.

    Which panels

Question for the great minds here...I am about ready to purchase solar panels and wondering if more IS better? I only have room for 2 panels on the roof of my converted cargo trailer. I am considering the 250 watt 12v Rich Solar units however I have seen several 200 watt panels that I am...

    Solar panel testing

I am an absolute beginner at solar and all it encompasses which is more than I have anticipated it was going to be. I'm not afraid of a challenge or the work that comes it. Just looking for good sound advice from someone who has been there and learned and has real life experience to share.

    Solar panel testing

I think I have resigned myself to getting new panels. Now for the $64,000 question. I am leaning towards 2 200 watt panels so I would have room for 2 more if need be on the roof. What panels would you suggest? This is a twofer for my $64,000 ...my plan for mounting would be unistrut the...

    Solar panel testing

More numbers for y'all to digest. The panels are grouped in pairs and I tested each panel separately and I will list each. Right front 2.0 amps, right rear 2.7 amps, left front 2.8 amps, left rear 1.8...left rear is beginning to delaminate/wrinkle. The right side I washed and the left I did...

    Solar panel testing

Sorry if I wake any of you up this early on a Sunday BUT before I take any of the connections apart I have a couple of questions. It appears that the right 2 panels are connected together and the left 2 panels are connected together. Meaning that the positive on 1 right side panel is...

    Solar panel testing

The sun is setting and everyone has giving me great advice and lots of things to look at and test. The person I purchased the trailer from used a power station ..either a Bluetti or an ecoflow...I'm thinking I can do better and custom build a system that would be best for our needs and be able...

I set the multi meter to dc amps red probe to the red wire in the connector and black probe to the black wire of the connector

    Solar panel testing

Correct a multi meter..so the question is the voltage and amperage within acceptable for me to continue on with the project of battery, charge controller and inverter ?

    Solar panel testing

I haven't gotten to the point purchasing parts yet. Again I am sorry for ignorance of terminology. I have 4 panels in total. There are "Y" connectors connecting 2 panels together and those are connected to the other 2 panels then the 2 sets of panels are connected to a "RED and BLACK pair of...

    Solar panel testing

Sorry for the poor panel picture but the sun had a huge glare on the screen I was able to see what I was looking at. It shows 2 columns and the 3rd one is on the right. The rows have a half cell on each side and 4 full cells in between.
  18. RV Jim

    Solar panel testing

I'm not sure exactly how count the number of cells BUT it appears to me that there are 3 columns of 60 cells so 180 cells per panel x 4 panels = 720 cells i am attaching pictures of the panels and volt and amp readings at 4pm central time near corpus christi tx.

    Solar panel testing

As best I can tell they are TP/SOLAR this is What Amazon has listed that best matches the panels I was told they were.

    Solar panel testing

Ok I do not have any paperwork on the panels and the are already glued on the roof so looking for a label on the back in not an option unless I absolutely have to. I will climb on the roof and see what I can see but they have been on the roof for 18 months already so things will mostly be faded...

    Again Ready to purchase

Sorry if my frustration shows. Here is the deal, I have 400w Solar panels and that is all I plan to have. I will buy or build a 100ah or 200ah or bigger lifepo4 battery to run minimal lights and charging ports and 1 roof MaxxAir fan. This is all I want in the small camper. Anything more than...

    Again Ready to purchase

I guess the bottom line is I have 4 100 watt panels on the roof and cabling inside the trailer. I do not plan to change the panels or add to it as they are covering the roof now...so I am asking i need next. Do I just add up all the listed watts for the items I plan to have in the camper ? Again Ready to purchase

Ok, this is my thoughts. 12v will be the primary usage. It will be used to charge devices and run led lights more than likely a small cooler. Ready to purchase

I was thinking about the Bluetti EB 120. At this point I am looking at a 12v cool with no freezer, 6 -3 watt led puck lights, a MaxxAir roof vent, a 12v TV probably with its own battery to be charged as needed, 2 -3 battery powered fans that will be charged as needed, 6 to 8 USB device ports 1...

    Ready to purchase

I have received great food from thought...here's my next question. Which is the better option? 1. The thread title is a good indication of my experience. This is the question for the great minds here. The advice i am looking for is what do I need to build a complete solar system to run.
