Midnite Solar Announced their new 10kw AIO at Intersolar Today

I'm talking about hardware efficiency, the generation and conversion processes. It's easier to step down than to step up? There used to be a few guys on youtube that used both systems LV vs HV and the points I made is what they found to be true. And, it's cheaper in both materials and ongoing...

Midnite Solar Announced their new 10kw AIO at Intersolar Today

I know they are making commercial grade equipment but they are missing a growing market and IMHO the future of residential solar. If they could get packages available for the inverters with a epanel without all the breakers and battery units easy to install they'd be direct competitors for some...

Midnite Solar Announced their new 10kw AIO at Intersolar Today

Some advantages to HV that I can think of. 1. Equipment runs cooler making it more efficient and overall performance should improve along with lifespan. Less fan noise since it's running cooler which should mean less idle consumption. Seems like surge performance would also improve since you...

Midnite Solar Announced their new 10kw AIO at Intersolar Today

Are those not all AC coupled...where you have to have a grid connection? I could care less about selling back and I want my system to work if the grid is down. With the way the world is right now I don't want to rely on a grid for things to function.

Midnite Solar Announced their new 10kw AIO at Intersolar Today

A few more questions. Rosie has a five year warranty right? This new AIO has ten? Why? It would appear Rosie is a superior inverter made in the USA? How does the surge compare between the two? Finally, why does any inverter I can find that has 100A pass through relays are AIO? I thought Rosie...

Midnite Solar Announced their new 10kw AIO at Intersolar Today

I'm not sure, I'm looking for more info on this myself. From what I heard they are easier to configure in HV application for some reason. I think they are more resilient on internal balancing. You can also charge them in freezing temps without damage and discharge to zero without any degradation...

Midnite Solar Announced their new 10kw AIO at Intersolar Today

I'm only aware of Sandi and Aims for us DIY folks. The others like what outback and schneider have on the market are only AC coupled so they do not work without the grid. They're are a few guys running the sandi inverters, they are low frequency and built like a tank and are industrial quality...

Midnite Solar Announced their new 10kw AIO at Intersolar Today

Current thought by some running HV is that sodium ion batteries will resolve some of these concerns. Thoughts?

Midnite Solar Announced their new 10kw AIO at Intersolar Today

This is why they make active balancers, in fact there's HV 10A 15A ones that are on the market now. There's too many pros to HV to not move forward in the industry.

Midnite Solar Announced their new 10kw AIO at Intersolar Today

Do you guys ever plan on releasing any of your inverters with high voltage DC input for the battery side? It seems like there's a little movement in the market for this but it's so slow. Aims has one with I believe 300V input now. I'm not sure on the Schneider home but they said high voltage...

    Warranties 3 5 10 year, does this make a big difference in quality ? E4G or ?

The new ones last for a year or two before you have to call up home depot and go through days of back and forth with their India call center and Apu to get them to honor the warranty. Most times they will send out a tech to try and fix it a few times and each time it's a week or weeks before...

    Warranties 3 5 10 year, does this make a big difference in quality ? E4G or ?

The old kenmore and whirlpool ones in avocado green and harvest gold that still work today. The street lights dim a little when they come on but they still work. The washing machines that you didn't have to wash twice or flush the tolite multiple times...the good ole days. I blame disposable...

    Hail damage in Texas.

I have no idea about this storm but I grew up in Dallas and we got golf ball size often and sometimes baseball size hail.

LOL....that's what came to my mind. "Slightly cracked with some snail trails."

    Hail damage in Texas.

I thought panels were more resilient? I'm about to start looking at panels and live around Texas / Oklahoma border so I want good panels that have decent hail resistance. Any brands or special certifications to look for on panels for this?

Grid Assist for hard to start AC load, then switch to Battery/PV inverter output?

I think what I meant to say was it pulls from the grid to make up for any deficits.

Grid Assist for hard to start AC load, then switch to Battery/PV inverter output?

Doesn't the xwpro and outback do this to..switch to the grid if needed?

    Lithium battery and ambient temps.

I'd be interested to hear from folks in AZ, TX, OK etc that have them in their garage without any cooling in August to see how they perform. Right now that's my only option is the garage and since it gets to probably 110F in the summer it's a huge concern for me both performance and safety wise.

    Lithium battery and ambient temps.

Google says the Lithium batteries shouldn't see over 70F/ish ambient temps. What are you suppose to do if you live in Texas or similar where the summer gets 105F. Do any of you have the batteries in the garage or shed that isn't air conditioned? I wanted to get a couple to run a small inverter...

    Bad experience with Signature Solar

I hope current connect starts carrying Schneider equipment soon. I'd rather buy from them seeing how good they have been treating customers.

Signature Solar Quality and Warranty Woes

SS is the allieexpress of solar..they just want to sell the product, collect the money and be done with it instead of building a full service respectable company. Look at current connect...much newer company with less employees it appears and they have a stellar reputation because they seem to...

Seems MPP dropped a new inverter...a split phase 10KW

Dam, it starts your well pump? I like the idea of one of these for their price point. You've seem to have had good luck with them. But from what I've read today and a little web surfing it seems like only some people get as lucky as you with long term durability. Maybe it just their newer stuff...

Seems MPP dropped a new inverter...a split phase 10KW

The are 24.0 cubic feet..bought them a few years ago so they are energy star models and use about 100W running, reported by another user, not sure about startup surge. I plan on having three deep freezers and the fridge in the house. The house fridge is old but says it uses 200W. But, I'd like...
