    Cheapest rooftop racking options

But forget CED Greentech in the Seattle area unless you have an inside guy. They won't sell Iron Ridge to you.

    Damaged panel, advice please.

Fire comes from arcing connectors. Your panel will continue to work flawlessly if you can exclude moisture intrusion. I would inject silicone (the same used to seal fish tanks) and move happily on, thanking goodness it wasn't worse. There may be better products for filling the hole, but I'm not...

    CED Greentech aka Greentech Renewables

Agreed, that's why I tried to give them my parts list. Still a fail. I got the impression they won't sell me Iron Ridge because of supply constraints, but they certainly didn't want to continue the conversation or offer alternatives. Their new logo even says, "going beyond supply" ...but not too...

    CED Greentech aka Greentech Renewables

Recently I was told they won't sell to me. They ignored my web inquiries twice before that. When I first called them in 2020, the told me it's unlikely they will be assisting me any time soon. What the heck? This is the Seattle branch. I just want to buy some Iron Ridge XR10 rails and some Lynx...

Deye UL Hybrid for off grid?

Well Snowynorth, did you burn down or are you happy and done?

Home Insurance & Non UL Approved Equipment

ETL counts for UL listing. ETL counts. It's just as valid as UL listing.

enphase 7.0 to grid with minimum hardware

You've got an electronic reporting meter. The meter isn't going to average your consumption for the day. The moment your consumption drops and you push current the wrong way, their computers are going to notice and they'll come get you. I'm pretty sure you'll get in trouble, and they have too...

    Ground mount for 24 panels 41 x 83

Because permitting is likely going to require an engineering stamp if you design it yourself. That's why I would be asking you if it's going to be permitted. Your questions about materials and cement are pretty much going to be nailed down by what the engineer deems sufficient to withstand the...

SOLIS 4G inverters, anyone have one?

Installer here in the Philippines is advising to use the Solis. Can't get much information out of him. Seems to be a language barrier. I'm also interested to know more about the current models and anyone's impressions. Wife looks to be interested in buying a lot without easy power access, so it...

Anyone found a good case to put a DIY battery system into?

Would also love to utilize this type of case terminal. They seem so neat. Don't know what they are called. I have a bookmark on the video at the point they are connecting to the the terminal. I did purchase a big anderson connector, but I have to open up the case to use that and my case will...

Anyone found a good case to put a DIY battery system into?

I'm not doing LiFePo, so I worry about explody flames. I chose a heavy steel case to hold my 18kw of Bolt cells. Ran across this beautiful steel case on clearance and put it on wheels. You'll note I'm nowhere near done, but I have almost everything I need now. I can hide most of my junk in there...

    Direct to water heating.

Yes, a tempering valve makes the whole concept work better (drive higher temps). I planned to do that. Eventually I will use a preheat tank so I can use both elements to temper all of the incoming water. I bought such a tank but it's not plumbed in yet. For now, I just intended to use the bottom...

    Direct to water heating.

Ahh! so when the thermostat is energizing the element, it also turns on the micro-inverters which try to satisfy the load. That should work perfectly all by itself. I'd be seriously under driving the element with the number of PV watts available so I don't imagine I would consider subtracting...

    Direct to water heating.

What I would like is a 4 panel microinverter like APSystems QS1 to be instructed to operate by the grid, but not backfeed the grid. I just want to use it to feed the bottom element of my hot water tank. Cheap simple reliable and now it's AC that won't burn up my hot water tank thermostat...

    Direct to water heating.

Yep, they sure do move heat. I managed to catch the Rheem ProTerra 50 on sale for $699 and now I must report my garage is frozen. At least it's my garage and not the house. Meets my needs otherwise.

Santan rather than Suntan is on eBay or go to Renvu for all new panels. panel availability constantly changes.

NEC 690.8: Any experts out there?

Yes, the adjustment and correction factors for ambient temp and conduit fill. 310.15 (b) also compare to the adjustment @19min 16seconds Sections probably change some in 2020 NEC so good luck to us all.

Solar Panel Fuses on 400w RV system

Per those codes, if we have multiple parallel strings, are we protecting with a CC or midget fuse? Hoping midget because I already bought.

Trouble finding metal pole for ground mount

I don't see any well casing or oil pipe on Craigslist in Seattle. I did finally find a place that will sell retail. $150 for schedule 40 galvanized pipe. 21ft, 3" ID, 3.5"OD . .216" wall ASTM A53 Grade B which is required for IronRidge. Puget Sound Pipe & Supply.

Trouble finding metal pole for ground mount

I hadn't thought about ebay. Interesting. Unfortunately conduit does not have structural credentials, but it's likely great for a small DIY.

Trouble finding metal pole for ground mount

This is a permitted 9Kw install, so wood or fence rail isn't going to fly... or rather, it could actually fly! Our county has a 110mph wind requirement that I must satisfy with an engineered structure, thus the Iron Ridge solutiin. Additionally, for those out there who haven't considered...

Trouble finding metal pole for ground mount

First plumbing place I looked for 3" pipe didn't have it... But could get it for $325 per 21ft. stick. I'm highly discouraged. For those doing Iron Ridge installs, what should I be paying if I find a source?

    Choosing solar pannels

The Trina Solar Duomax Twin 390w are $198 at the supplier I mentioned. I agree, make sure they fit on your roof, try to pick a reputable brand name and go for price.

    Choosing solar pannels

I also wanted to go with TrinaSolar Duomax Twin but I cannot find the mounting solution for the panels I purchased. They have an unusually 25mm frame size which clamps do not work with. Most frames are 30-45mm. Since this is a bifacial panel, I have also heard that they use a solar junction (or...

Plug and play/hardwire microinverters that can run grid supported, off grid hybrid with or without batteries and direct drive ac and water heaters!

Ordering from who? They drive you to fill out a form to find qualified installers at their website. How is somebody supposed to experiment this way? Also been waiting for Enphase IQ8, but that will be the same situation.
