    Docan Power fees

My point is that the fee was never mentioned, it just appeared on the invoice at checkout and then the reason for the fee changed. But there are plenty of other suppliers. https://www.evcomponents.com/4ps-eve-3-2v-280ah-lifepo4-cells.html

    Docan Power fees

I made an order for 18 of the 280Ah cells from Docan, shipped from the Texas warehouse. Went to the checkout and on the invoice was a $76 'transaction fee'. No mention of this fee prior to checkout and no details of what the fee was for. E-mailed the company to be told the fee was for...

    18650 Battery Store

Just an update. Still no response to my e-mail but they did send me a repeat invoice asking if I wanted to complete the purchase!

    18650 Battery Store

I've had 2 separate orders for 280Ah cells from 18650 store with absolutely no problems. So a few days ago I decided to order 16 more cells for $1,640 and $227 for the shipping. But I got a pop up from 'shop' saying that an access code had been sent to my e-mail address which I had to enter to...

    WiFi battery monitor

I'm sure this has been asked before, but I can't find it, so.... Six DIY LiFePo4 battery banks, 4 X 200AH and 2 X 280AH. All have JBD type BMS and all have Bluetooth modules. I want to be able to monitor all of the banks at the same time, not switch between Bluetooth modules. When I say...

EG4 6500 EX Under an Oscilloscope

How do you set up your scope to read that high voltage? I've a Tektronix 2445A which I use for hobby electronics, mainly just Arduino projects, so 12 - 14V maximum for relays etc. I've already let the magic smoke out of plenty of other things, so I know how quickly I could ruin my scope. ;)

EVE 280A cells black Friday sale.

UPS tried, but failed to damage them. TaDa With the supplied studs, which I'll talk about in a moment About those studs, and this isn't a criticism, just an observation and a warning. The tapped holes in the mounting go all the way through, so if you use bolts or are a bit careless with the...

    Praising a supplier

An update. I was so impressed with the BMS, that I ordered another two, and a UART touchscreen LCD monitor as well. https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256804529002284.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.0.0.681a1802faPSvn&gatewayAdapt=glo2usa&_randl_shipto=US Not that I need them yet it's just that with the...

    Praising a supplier

I've already posted that by my own stupidity I blew up my BMS. Ordered one from this supplier. https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256804493131707.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.0.0.21ef1802HHxlII&gatewayAdapt=glo2usa&_randl_shipto=US Here's why I like it so much. $50 with free shipping, for 16S 100A...

    Praising a supplier

Before I post details, is it OK to praise the Chinese supplier of my new BMS?. Not getting anything out of it, just an acknowledgement of excellent and fast service.

Battery BMS showing the wrong cell voltages

I know, but I confused a handwritten 12 with a handwritten 15. A combination of dodgy eyesight, a hangover and plain stupidity for not double checking before connecting. ;)

    Bulged lifepo4 small for cheap - 24V ~70% capacity left, 7AH K2B24V10EB

Sorry to say but you're being unrealistic asking that sort of money for a defective bulged battery. I thought they looked familiar. But I could be mistaken. https://www.ebay.com/itm/313280398552

Battery BMS showing the wrong cell voltages

I have exactly the same issue. Mine was caused by me not paying attention and swapping 2 of the balance leads. The BMS is possibly toast, just like mine.

    Poor Docan Experience (Resolved)

If you pay for 280Ah cells, you should get 280Ah cells, not excuses.

    Which battery sellers?

    Could you elaborate?
  23. N

    Which battery sellers?

Yes, and if you look at other posting I'm not alone. Even Will ordered new cells but got junk. The problem with AliExpress and their return policy, is that it costs a great deal to return them to China, and UPS, FEDEX or whoever, who will take one look at swollen LiFePo4 cells and say "Not a...

    Which battery sellers?

Over the last few years I've built four 200Ah, 48 volt battery banks from individual cells I'd bought from various AliExpress sellers. Some cells were fair, others were basically junk. No need to elaborate as many members have also been there. After having an almost unheard of 5 days of solid...

    BMS amperage

You would also need copper wire as thick as your arm to carry 1000 amps, even though the maximum the inverter is able to draw is around 60 amps for a 3kw unit and the same 60 amps which is the maximum output of my 3kw of panels. Still makes no sense to me.
  26. N

    BMS amperage

For 16 cell LiFePo4 it's a choice between 80A or 250A, nothing in between. I may order the 250A one simply because the build quality looks really good.
  27. N

    BMS amperage

So if I have 2 banks of 280Ah cells in parallel giving me 560Ah I'd need a 500A BMS at a minimum? That makes no sense.
  28. N

    BMS amperage

As I posted elsewhere, due to my own carelessness I connected the balance lead from cell #12 to the connector for cell #15 and visa versa. Now the BMS is showing the wrong voltage on a couple of cells; so I've fried it. Looking for a replacement for the 100A JBD unit and I'm finding lots of 80A...

Anyone want to see inside a Rec-BMS active?

Funny. I just reconfigured one of my battery banks and had to extend the balance leads. Solder and shrink wrap of course. But due to old age, dodgy eyes a hangover and inattention I swapped the balance leads on 2 of the cells. A handwritten 12 can look like a handwritten 15, well that's my...

    MC4 alternatives

    Or in my case, flammable.

    MC4 alternatives

Just tried, and yes, a magnet sticks very firmly to the connector, even through the burned plastic. So the connectors on my Santan panels are garbage and replacing them all is top of my to do list.
  32. N

    MC4 alternatives

Three SanTan 250 watt panels in series, so around 100V and 6 to 8 amps. As for what went wrong. It wasn't abrasion, as the connector was cable tied under the panels to keep the sun off as our climate eats plastic. Looking at the actual MC4 connector you go from 10AWG copper wire to a very thin...

    MC4 alternatives

One of my banks of panels quit on me today. Of course 104F, too hot to get on the roof, batteries slowly depleting running 2 mini splits, you know how it goes with Murphy's law. But I had to see what was wrong in case I needed to order anything. Anyway I found this. And before you ask, these...

    MPP no solar input

The voltage is around 102 when I last measured it. Connected a 4 ohm 10 watt resistor across the panels input and got a voltage drop of around 30 volts across the resistor and getting very hot very fast, so I have plenty of solar power. I= V/R so 7.5 amps and P = V*A giving 756 watts. I'm...

    MPP no solar input

I'm wrong, the voltage at the solar input terminals is swinging between 30 and 55 volts.
