After watching Will's videos and reading his discussion of the MPP all-in-one systems I clicked the link to purchase a PIP-2424LV-MSD Solar Inverter (MPP USA 24V 2.4 kW PIP). I also purchased all of the recommended Windy Nation cables through Amazon, so assumed that when I got ready to build my...
HAHAHA - got it! Based on what I've heard during past power outages none of our neighbors have generators, so I don't want to be identified as the only one with power.
Loud is exactly the reason I'm hoping to get a solar backup system in place. We live in a fairly dense suburban area, and even if I had enough fuel on hand to run my generator I really don't want to either annoy our neighbors or attract any undue attention.
At what latitude is your property? What you're doing is very close to what I would like to do, but I live at 38 degrees north and don't have good solar exposure due to a large tree on the property, so would have to adjust accordingly.
For what it's worth, as of tonight I still haven't heard from them, although my credit card was charged on 11/12, so I canceled my order and notified them. I've since ordered a similar item from another vendor. Hope this helps someone going forward.
Has anyone had issues with this supplier? I ordered their 1 to 4 MC4 Y Branch Connectors on 11/12, was informed the same day that my order was on the way, but haven't heard anything since. Is this normal or should I reorder somewhere else? Thanks!
Need to know: If I have multibranch connectors designed to connect 4 solar panels to provide power to my Kodiak generator, but for whatever reason need to use only two panels, am I going to have a problem? Thanks in advance...
So, still adjustable, and stable as well - nice. I toyed with the idea of building something similar using loose-fitting furniture slip tees for ease of adjustment.
Thanks for the input, but I'm hoping to not be in too dire a situation, hence the preplanning! I will certainly keep your suggestion in mind, however, in case it ever gets to that point.
Thanks for the information! I'm actually hoping to possibly run our fridge and possibly the TV in addition to recharging the Kodiak during any outage, so I'm still thinking in terms of a stand-alone generator. I really appreciate your comments regarding other options, especially those at a...
I have an Inergy Kodiak that successfully powered my CPAP during a two day power outage. I'm now wondering how I would manage a three or more day outage. I am ready to order 4 HQST 100 watt panels and the appropriate adapter to connect to the Kodiak, but am wondering how I would recharge the...
