New to solar - bought RV with battery/solar

if you upgrade to lithium batteries, you need to make sure your charger has a lithium profile (the 9280 doesn't, but Progressive Dynamics should have a drop-in replacement) the SCC needs a lithium profile you need to protect your alternator as LFP batteries will burn it out since this is a...

Converting to Lithium in Keystone RV with the SolarFlex 2001 package

remember when using cable length for size calculation, it is the total of both wires, not just 1 here is a drop-in replacement guide for the WFCO https://www.progressivedyn.com/converter-cross-reference-guide/

    WF-T30 RV transfer switch questions...

so the LFP batteries are only powering the inverter, which manages charging the LFP batteries and supplies AC (shore/inverter) the LA batteries are powering the 12V side and are only charged when there is AC no perpetual motion

    WF-T30 RV transfer switch questions...

the converter needs to be disabled when running on the inverter otherwise you have a perpetual motion machine i.e. battery running inverter, inverter charging the battery. you have to remember to turn the breaker off for the converter when running the inverter or install a relay that only powers...

Newbie RV solar and hybrid inverter upgrade questions.

i have a small Class C (Chevy 350 chassis) and made the switch to lithium a few years ago - 12V 280Ah LFP cells/Chargery BMS kept everything at 12V for simplicity and starting the generator i have 200W solar on the roof and 200W solar in a suitcase for parking under the trees i have alternator...

    Chargery relay question

i bought some used Chargery stuff last fall i have 2 mechanical relays at the moment, so separate port was on my brain just getting around to installing it, i had 2 DCC cables for common port and modified it to drive the 2 DCC's i.e. 1 for charging, 1 for discharge now that i am thinking about...

wire size for short wire, battery to bus bar?

yes, i agree, it could be as high as 184A, but my question is do i need 4/0 wire for the short connections? math says no

wire size for short wire, battery to bus bar?

i have a 280ah LFP, 2000W inverter right now i have 4/0 wire from battery terminals to bus bars thinking about size vs distance, these are only ~12" long are hard to manage i should be able to use a smaller, more flexible wire for the short distance and still manage my ~160A for the inverter? mark

A.O. Lithium batteries. Their suggestion to my problem.

The main feeds come off the same end of the busbars? i.e closest to battery #1, or middle, or opposite ends. Not sure if opposite ends or middle is best, but not off an end that is closest to the same battery. Trying to balance any losses in the connections and use all batteries equally.

A.O. Lithium batteries. Their suggestion to my problem.

Do you have them wired in parallel correctly? i.e the positive off battery #1 and negative off battery #4?

Chargery BMS, DCC (Solid State Contactor) thread.

yes, i found out the hard way too i had some foam backing and had a strap to fix it to the back of the cells in my RV recently it started acting up - i.e. not reading current correctly bought a used replacement & it works fine i added just a strip of foam at each end so it can stay cool and...

Chargery BMS, DCC (Solid State Contactor) thread.

the DCC needs a much higher voltage to switch the mosfets - the ISO board boosts the voltage so the DCC can work on the + rail not required for anything but the DCC

    Expanding my installed RV system

The wfco will not charge your lithium batteries properly You have to make sure the inverter is not powering the converter, either manually or add a relay to control power to the converter

Chargery BMS, DCC (Solid State Contactor) thread.

yes, under load, normally <10mV w/o large load i did get a 5A active balancer and left it on for a couple of days, this really worked i don't have it connected now as i couldn't find a convenient way to mount it permanently, but it did it's job the Chargery balancer kicks in @30mV for a bit, but...

    Expanding my installed RV system

yes, i agree, lots of discussion i was thinking for the little time he might be connected to shore power, a single stage would suffice but, something with a float stage would be better if connected for long periods

    Expanding my installed RV system

LFP profiles are usually fixed voltage i.e. 14.6V (max) they will operate at full current and then taper off current as the voltage approaches max until full voltage is reached they will hold the voltage there FLA/AGM profiles have 3 stages (bulk, boost, float), LFP just has 1

Chargery BMS, DCC (Solid State Contactor) thread.

i have the 8T (4S) using power plug, not the sense leads for power my inverter will draw 150A and i don't see any dancing voltages - all within 30mV i clean the terminals and use NOALOX to keep the contact resistance as low as possible just re-read your post the BMS should be powered from the...

    Expanding my installed RV system

yes, everything that can charge the batteries requires a LFP profile also if charging from your alternator, you'll need a DC-DC charger to limit the alternator current and probably a much bigger wire than the normal 7-pin plug from vehicle to trailer
