LFP for EV's projected to be less than $56 per kWh within 6 months

Yea they would be fun to play with for an offgrid setup. EV is noway ready for prime time and probably won't be in my lifetime. Most people don't know anything about oil other than what they read on the interwebs. I support oil also. I worked on 835ft drillships for many many years as a Chief...

"regular" solar system or portable power station?

Yea your talking about building your own batteries and all. If you have the time and want to play / experiment go for it. Me I already have too many other hobbies and don't need another one. LOL So I went for the ecoflow. I might one day get a rack mount battery and an all in one mppt/inverter...

"regular" solar system or portable power station?

Don't know what you mean regular solar system. Or you really mean DIY like buying stuff from sig solar and building what you want? From all the mixed stories on here abut sig solar. I opted to stay away from them and I got a EcoFlow Delta 2 Max for our cabin and the extra battery. I love it...

Enphase Proactive Equipment Upgrade anyone get a call from Enphase direct.

I don't think that it was really to much for what I got. Back when I did the solar it was a 26% tax credit and the solar system was around 18k out of my pocket paid cash. This was after the tax credit. A couple years later we got the battery system tax credit at 30% paid cash again and it was...

Off grid but still receive a utility bill

$12.32 is pretty cheap. Here in FL with FPL former Gulf Power are connection or meter fee is 26.98 a month, but I am grid tied net metering and we sell back to them. I get enough credit in Jan to cover the meter fee for the year so technically we get no electric bill at all. :)

Do You Ever Regret Going Off Grid?

I don't get an electric bill either. But as for the question we have both a house on grid with solar that washes the bill completely. We have batteries on this system for backup whole house would have no problem staying off grid as long as needed. Then we have a cabin in the woods 15 min from...

Energy monitoring: Emporia Vue vs. Sense

My Enphase batteries provide 240 AC with the IQ8 Inverters built in. My question with the Vue work with Grid, Solar, and battery AC in/out. Can you program it that way? Anyone using it like that. Edit. Just found out that I can do this with what I got already. Looks like vue is really too...

Energy monitoring: Emporia Vue vs. Sense

I still using EMONCMS and it works great but now that I have the enphase batteries it will show 0 watts used if I use sefl consumption. So I would like to find something that will monitor energy used, solar, and the batteries. Will Vue do this? .

How Can a Tier 1 System Make Financial Sense?

Same here I can care less about ROI... I wanted the system and the backup batteries. You want ROI buy a house and make it a rental. And solar at the cabin is a hobby also and nice to have. .

    Utility rate increases

I feel sorry for you all in Cali... Here in Florida it's not too bad. Our solar doing well. We only get the meter fee around $26 but that gets washed away on the credit we get in Jan and it last for the year to pay the meter fee. I have batteries mainly for backup. .
