    Wanted: 304ah Cells UK

Heya, anyone in the UK happen to have 8x 304ah cells available? I promised to build a battery for a friend's narrowboat and well I ended up being diagnosed with cancer in Dec and went through treatment and I have the all clear now. Been in touch with Amy but there's the usual 8 week wait...

    Both fair points

Solar Charge Controller - What current rating?

Yeah because it'll be a boat on the uk canal network there'll be some considerations to put into place and decisions made. If I'm honest though neither of us had considered half cut panels. I read up a brief amount about them

Why not one large Panel on RV?

My worry, being an RV, would be that I'd much rather replace one damaged 100w panel than a 400w.

Solar Charge Controller - What current rating?

Agreed, given the roof size, running multiple strings will also aid with partial shade etc. I'm just waiting for the specs to proceed.

Battery charger to power 12V DC appliances

Are you sure 12a will be enough? Either way best to use a PSU, for instance a cheap bench power supply is a useful thing to have anyway and can do the job depending on its current limit. Just be sure to set it to 12v to be safe, battery chargers can output upto 16v hence why things can blow...

Solar Charge Controller - What current rating?

They will be in series, I've asked for their specs so can double check their compatibility. I didn't think about future proofing, atm it's a small boat but they may wish to upgrade and take things with them I suppose. Thanks both :)

Solar Charge Controller - What current rating?

Helping a friend setup power on their boat. They will have 5 solar panels adding upto 990watts or so, and a Lifep04 600ah battery bank made up of 2x 12v units with bms, each one with 4x 305ah cells. It'll be powering led lights, toilet and water pumps, laptop and other small misc items so no...

Anyone purchased these Ultra Cheap 12v 100ah LiitoKala Battery?

Yeah cells tend to be 3-5000 cycles before capacity drops to 80%. Considering the cells in these are around 80% of original capacity I'm not sure how many they'll actually last.

Anyone purchased these Ultra Cheap 12v 100ah LiitoKala Battery?

Yep thats the one. One thing I would like to know is how many cycles I can expect long term.

Anyone purchased these Ultra Cheap 12v 100ah LiitoKala Battery?

For those playing along at home, I repeated the test, this time with a 5a load for curiosity's sake and this time I got the exact same result 103.6ah.

How does your inverter deal with ground.

If you're on a boat you should probably think about having a galvanic isolator

Anyone purchased these Ultra Cheap 12v 100ah LiitoKala Battery?

Ok so here is my findings for my battery. Be gentle, I'm sorta new to all this. Battery: 12v 120ah 4S1P LifePO4 Liitokala from Littokala Official Store on Aliexpress. Shunt necessary?

The charge controller shows what's going into your battery, the shunt is really used to monitor what load is coming out and is generally more accurate.

Anyone purchased these Ultra Cheap 12v 100ah LiitoKala Battery?

So I decided to discharge the batteru fully from 13.2v and got 38ah. Its since been on charge lapping up a steady 9.78a for about 8 hours and is currently at 13.9v. Don't want to leave it charging unattended so will carry on tomorrow. BMS seems to cut off at 10v Sadly I don't have a bigger...

Anyone purchased these Ultra Cheap 12v 100ah LiitoKala Battery?

I have to say though my early thoughts are this battery is too small to be 100ah. I've just realised my IMAX b6 does discharge test so will try that.

Anyone purchased these Ultra Cheap 12v 100ah LiitoKala Battery?

So I ordered the 120ah one for £185 posted to the UK. Took 3 weeks to arrive, was well packaged. Out of the box it measured 12.8v so 3.2v per cell. So far I have charged using an IMAX b6 charger at 5a and it finishes at 13.4v. If I connect to my bench power supply with a current limit of 6a and...
