    My Victron 24V MultiPlus-II 2x120v arrived today

Did you notice that you're missing the negative pads for the battery cables? I just received 2 of these units and both are missing the pads.

    Multiplus-II and Onan QG 5500 design questions/validation

How old is your generator and does it only happen when running on the generator? I'm not exactly sure what's going on but my last guess would be the ground neutral bond on the generator. You'll have to consult ONAN for exact location and configuration but the ground and neutral should be bonded...

    Multiplus-II and Onan QG 5500 design questions/validation

If you are reading 120v and 60hz in the cerbo than the multiplus has connected to the generator. Is it not charging?

    Multiplus-II and Onan QG 5500 design questions/validation

When you are monitoring the inverter how are you determining that its the inverter not accepting the power? In the cerbo do you have a voltage reading on the inputs?

    Multiplus-II and Onan QG 5500 design questions/validation

Please excuse the over zealous safety warning, Dexter's reply was completely wrong and I have seen people get one reply to there question and just do it... I would suggest increasing your AC in disconnect to 106v and connect to 110, disable UPS, enabling dynamic current limiter, and lowering...

    Multiplus-II and Onan QG 5500 design questions/validation

Ok Dave, let me just start with DO NOT COMBINE L1 AND L2 ON YOUR GENERATOR! Now that that is out of the way. Most likely your settings are incorrect. Could you please upload some screen shots or the actual veConfig file for your system?

    Multiplus-II and Onan QG 5500 design questions/validation

If you have voltage between L1 and L2 of 240v than the Multiplus II will handle the power directly. Single phase is technically 240v and your generator has a center tap giving you split phase. Which is the input that the multiplus II is rated for.

    Multiplus-II and Onan QG 5500 design questions/validation

NO!!! If you have 240volts between L1 and L2 on the generator output than the lines should NOT be combined EVER.

    Multiplus-II and Onan QG 5500 design questions/validation

Apparently it works for people but Onan have repeatedly told me that these units are Non-recombinable. Meaning you can't do exactly what is mentioned in the video however I assume nothing bad has happened with it for him to post a video. The only thing I can think of, would be that the...

    Multiplus-II and Onan QG 5500 design questions/validation

I wonder why Onan labels these generators as non-recombinable.

    Multiplus-II and Onan QG 5500 design questions/validation

The 2400 rpm generators have 3 physical poles. So the formula for frequency, Generator Frequency (f) = Number of revolutions per minute of the engine (N) * Number of magnetic poles (P) / 120. 2400*3= 7200/120=60

    Multiplus-II and Onan QG 5500 design questions/validation

And just to confirm, L1 and L2 have no potential/no voltage between them.

Which specific Model of onan do you have?

    Multiplus-II and Onan QG 5500 design questions/validation

Your assumption that when only a 120v input is on L1 and no input on L2, the Multiplus makes L2 from the inverter is incorrect. L1 input is put into parallel with L2 and the inverter as well. So if you had say a 3000w shore power connection the MPII would passthrough to both L1 and L2 as well as...

    Fortune LiFePO4 60ah-100ah accessories.

I didn't purchase them. I'm helping a friend set his up, he lost a lot of the bus bars and damaged a few of the covers. I sent them an e-mail the electric car parts company and haven't heard anything back yet just wondering if there was another place to get them.

So what BMS/relay combination would you recommend for pulling 300amp loads and charging around 50amps with? Again the battery needs to be in 12v configuration for inverter and charger

Combing 2 diy 100ah batts for 200ah total

Im trying to do something similar to OP however I'll need a much higher output along Any thoughts on a single BMS and a relay for larger loads over 200 amps? in a 2p 4S configuration would it be possible to use one BMS to control a relay for loads from an inverter and one BMS for charging from...

Large load relay and bms HELP.

Hello all, Currently working on a project with 8 fortune 100ah batteries, a renogy 50amp DC to DC and mppt combo unit, and a 5000watt aims inverter. If anyone has some suggestions on how to configure a BMS or BMS's to achieve at least a 300amp load potential. Original thought was 4s2p with...
