Weize batteries have gone up on Amazon

What would happen if you ran more then 4 in parallel? I'm always confused when BMS's state they have a parallel limit, I understand having series limits due to bms voltage limits however.

CIGS panels are shorting, melting, and delaminating

I was going to order some 160watt ones then I saw two of these 80s on a overland rig with that exact issue already as well, delamination and burn spots. Too bad I really digged them but it seems like they are really shit quality for serious coin. You dont see those issues with genuine sunpower...

    Valence ogh no...

Many still have it on cl, fb marketplace etc. Even forums such as here. Just not the big usual big carriers that stock on eBay. People may try to inflate prices but it won't work, the batteries are not worth much more then we all have paid anyways with the new stuff around. Prices went up on...

    Valence XP Super Thread

As someone who owns a thunderstruck bms I can tell you Travis's solution is a ways better and I would recommend it over the Thunderstruck VC1 easily. What he has going is at least somewhat closer to what the manufacturer intended. Intra module balancing is huge if you ever want to expand outside...

DC-DC charger (B2B) options and general discussion

That's very old boat tech that was amazing but now it seems ancient compared to advance systems that use canbus controlled alternators to talk to your bms. Many companies that outfit overland rigs carry them for dual bracket applications. The nations kit sold in the van world is complete trash...

Wish I knew what I was doing on the coding end of the spectrum to make my thunderstrucks putty communication actually useful. That alone is reason to go with what you guys got cooking. Cheaper then setting up a victron vrm to frankly which is what I was in the process of doing.

DC-DC charger (B2B) options and general discussion

https://www.safiery.com/3kw-12-48v-canbus-integrated-buck-boost-power-char This is the one I referenced earlier for reference, it's there take on a beefed up version of the victron buck boost. They also have a tiny one the size of a iphone coming out that's apparently 100/150 amps that is...

DC-DC charger (B2B) options and general discussion

https://www.safiery.com/ Check out what they offer, some pretty crazy expensive converters that push over 3kw... However the only true B2B charger I see them using is the victron orion smart paralleled however many times as seen in a few of the vids they have up.

The Thunderstruck activates balancing just not between modules so if you are running 12v the thunderstruck does everything you need, besides monitoring ... It uses putty and is garbage on that front. My batteries blink green every 5 seconds with the Thunderstruck vc1 plugged so it wakes them up .

    Pip1012lv-mk stays in "float" mode

Does the pip1012lv-mk suffer from this issue as well?

Why has nobody made a 3-in-one?

Alternator-Inverter-charger method works well and is cheap but isn't the most optimal. I have done a install where we used a 24v mpp all in one and used a 12v 1000w inverter from the van battery with a ignition switch remote. It ran the charger of the mpp. It also solved the issue of going to a...

Valence BMS and Mobile App with Grafana

Very nice job! Looks like it took a lot of work. Makes me want to trashcan my thunderstruck vc1! You really should also see about the ability to make your own bms via the computer hardware since you have done so well with that software. I reckon you might be able to put everything into a single...

Muller Industries - BMS for Valence U27-12XP

Thanks for sharing. I contacted them a couple weeks ago when I found the unit and requested some info. They seemed helpful and I ordered it. Luckily I'm running my valence in parallel (12v) so I think I'll be okay... I wanted the muller unit, but not at that price point. I'm hoping I can...

    Alternator Hookup to a All-In-One MPP Solar unit (12V, 800W, 120VAC)

A safer method would be to run a vehicle powered inverter to convert to 120v to then power the charger on the mpp unit. You would want to size this inverter appropriately with your alternator and max charging input. Probably only a 800-1000 watt inverter max. Inverter to inverter charging isn't...
