I just ordered this 12V 120AH battery from Ali Express for $89.00 CDN. Shipping was free. I'll check it when it arrives and if it's okay, I'll order some more.

Thanks, that's to be expected from Ali Express. Usually very misleading but it's one thing to be a sucker, it's another to bring something unsafe into your house and burn it down.
Good point. You'd want to put anything that could burn your house down through it's paces, especially with AliExpress.

I've had decent luck with AE. Somewhere around 30 smallish purchases, maybe a total of $500. The wildly out of true hammer SDS MAX drill bits were a hoot. To be fair what did I expect for a 48" (yes, 4 foot) 1 1/2" diameter drill bit shipped to me for less than $80 when everything domestic was over $500.

The $60 200AMP JK BMS turned out nicely though. So do the $6 Anderson plugs with 2' of 8AWG silicone wire with ring terminals already installed.

Please explain how you came up with that?

12.6V maximum voltage would be completely worthless to a battery made of 3.2V LFP cells. Either destroy a 3S battery or grossly undercharge a 4S battery.

Li-on 3.7V cells charge to 4.2V

4.2V * 3 = 12.6V

18650 are more commonly 3.7V li-ion cells vs. LFP.

Listed as Li-ion rather than LFP

Also the constructed measurements and weight is a dead giveaway and energy density nowhere close for rating claimed.
Looks like a typical alarm panel / gate motor battery normally rated around 12Ah and has similar connection terminals.

Good luck with Ali, what I have confirmed with my 3 purchases from them is the old adage, when something appears to good to be true it probably is. Or something like that.

My 1st purchase was half of what was described, refund and they actually wanted it shipped back.
2nd was supposed to be a welder, they sent a $5.00 plastic shower head. Refund, didn't want it back.
The final straw was a $300 item that resulted in a 6"x4"x2" box with a single piece of cardboard inside as the item.
This one took the most effort to get my money back.

No Mas Ali !

Avoid buying things from places that are Shop123456 numbers. Always check the other items the store sells.

As others have noted a quick look at the battery with its terminals is a giveaway that it is not a 100ah battery. The other description information in the ad confirms this.

I have had success with most of my Alie purchases. I do pay attention to all the details though.
Is buying batteries from Ali Express safe?
I have bought all my batteries and cells through Aliexpress and so far have not been disappointed.*

* My last purchase of batteries is a gamble due to the nature of the seller being very new and the price lower than normal. With shipping from China taking two months it will take some time to play out.

Here you go. I usually post a link but just didn't bother this time. They are easy to find with a little searching.

I personally find it a nightmare to find anything on AlliExpress. There's always a million listings for every single item and some can and can't be shipped to the US. Some default to the wrong item if there's multiple sub-items when ya click their own link. It's a garbage site. It makes Amazon searches seam reasonable.

you need to just learn how to read it, I have boughten close to 200 items from them, which compared to amazon for the identical item generally results in a 70% savings.

This is the answer to buying from Ali Express or some of the other Asian sites. Some of the information gets lost in translation. I don't think there are very many sellers trying to take advantage of buyers as they are like any other company; they want you to give them a good review and to come back and buy from them again. I find there is a lot of prejudice in comments about buying outside of N. America. What's so odd about this is that much of the stuff we buy on this continent, originally came from another one but now we are buying from a middle man and paying extra.

yea but bud, you got screwed, nothing in that ad is good. your going to get a ups sized battery, with nowhere close to proper capacity

I am not too afraid. I have asked the seller exactly what the item is and I paid by CC. If I don't get what I ordered, my CC company will refund me. I've had it done several times now. I have threatened other sellers I would do it to them if they didn't play fair with me and they came through with the proper item or a refund. Once the seller understands they you're not going to be taken by them, they play ball.
