12v 120AH Battery

I buy things off aliexpress like the yr-1035, solar 673 meter and that sort of thing.... Chinese breakers and the like.... I read carefully and when I get things I check them over.

I have been refunded without having to return the items that came not as described. And I have been refunded for the one shipment that showed delivered but wasn't here... no trouble at all.

I am not too afraid. I have asked the seller exactly what the item is and I paid by CC. If I don't get what I ordered, my CC company will refund me. I've had it done several times now. I have threatened other sellers I would do it to them if they didn't play fair with me and they came through with the proper item or a refund. Once the seller understands they you're not going to be taken by them, they play ball.
So when you get your UPS battery, are you going to claim it's not what you ordered, and send it back?

That has also happened to me on an order that never showed up. They gave me a credit. I told them if it ever did show up that I would let them know and they could charge me again. A month or so later, it did show up and I am honest and let them know I got it.

If you want people to be honest with you, it must work both ways and you also have to be honest.

The sentiment is good but in this case can be misguided. The product has pictures and description of what it is. If I buy a Rulex watch that is labeled Rulex but mistakenly think it is a Rolex the ad was honest (could be deceptive) but the mistake is mine.

If you receive exactly what is pictured in the ad you will be unlikely to win any return based on item received not the same as described.

Buying from the Chinese is a case of Caveat Emptor at all times.

Well put.

Talking about being honest out of one side of your mouth, while scheming to bully the seller into eating the whole cost of the bad purchase is not a good look. To be sure, the product description is somewhat misleading, but anyone who claims to know something about batteries should have figured out what the listing was for, even at a glance. If it looks like a duck, it quacks loudly, and waddles like a duck, then it doesn't matter if the listing claims in one part that it's a swan.

I bought 8 12v 50ah [advertised] from China. each contained 6 18650 cells.
seller would NOT refund kept claiming they are 50ah wanted a battery capacity report from me.
Ali finally agreed when I proved they don't make 18650's that are 25ah each

100% counterfeit, I'd wager. Anyone can print a Samsung label. Most real ones make some sense, though. Another example of why I don't touch that low rent knockoff of our Murrican Race To The Bottom darling, Amazon. The real thing is quite bad enough, thanks.

What is fun about Aliexpress is getting the item that goes beyond the low/no expectation. Very much like buying at Harbor Freight. Over the years a few gems show up.

I just bought a gas chain saw for under $60 that is due to show up next week. I expect nothing from it other than it is all there to begin with. If it runs and actually cuts wood I will feel good. If it does not last long I will not be surprised. I would only file a complaint with Aliexpress if it showed up as an empty package, missing parts or not show up at all. BTW: calling it cordless in the description is one of those things that could be thought as deceptive because the common usage is cordless means battery powered.

If any portion of the ad is false, it's grounds for a refund. It's a 1,000% certainty that NONE of the options on that link meet the claimed Ah capacity, so he will NOT receive 120Ah batteries.

I bought a chainsaw from China several years ago. It was a very good saw and a great deal. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one.

I was considering a first time purchase from AE and found this thread, seems about as expected, junk and a scam. I won't waste my money, seems like a gamble at the best of times and just about the same as throwing it away. I think it's probably best to deal with a local store for me, being a newbie.

I would also never buy a chainsaw from them, that's a no brainer. A Stihl or Husqvarna will outperform anything AE could ever deliver.

It's your money to do with as you please. For me, expecting everything from there to be crap, and getting excited when you actually get something that works more or less as advertised, is not a high value proposition. I've purchased enough crap from China via eBay and other places to know how much fun I'd have in that lottery. The house always wins.

"Classic" AliExpress.

Below is what I ordered.

Would anyone care to guess what I got?

As I have already stated I have been mostly pleased with what I get. But I am a simple fellow easily distracted by shiny, twisty, moving things.

I already have several chainsaws and it is not like I have to log for a living. BTW I hate Stihl expensive, hard to start, over rated saws. The Husqvarna is a good saw though.

Be careful that your local store has not simply bought the item from China and had it labeled under their branding. China will happily do that for anyone willing to buy in bulk.

Well, that is your choice. As for the chainsaw, a Stihl is a very good machine but for the same specs, it would have cost me 5 times as much.

As for the battery, the seller just confirmed it was a 12V 120AH battery.

I have noticed that even though I copied the URL of the battery I ordered, that is not what shows up when I click on it. The website seems to have a default page and then you have to click on the various items to get what you want. I have found the same thing with other sites. It depends how they have been designed or perhaps, not designed well.

We get that all the time in the guitar industry. Gibson, Rickenbacker and Fender are copied all the time and the internet is full of these guitars and bargain prices. Of course they are not the real thing. The US customs just found a container full of fake Gibson's a couple of weeks ago.

I have been on some of the mfrs. sites and many of them will put whatever you want on the headstock. It's the same in many industries and it's not only the Chinese doing it.

When I included the screen cap, I deliberately selected the 120Ah battery.

Here you go. I usually post a link but just didn't bother this time. They are easy to find with a little searching.

Details from your link. They updates the ad.

New 18650 lithium-ion battery pack, build-in 12V 100Ah/80Ah BMS 30A for electric vehicle emergency lighting, toy car battery

They just dropped the price to $8.00

Looks like someone on that site don't understand decimal points. It should have been $8.00 not $80.00
