12v LFPo to Alternator question

How much current reduction did you see when dropping voltage to 14.1v? I've been thinking about diode-based isolators and LiFePO4 -- the milder voltage and (presumably) current seem like a good fit.
The alternator ouput is more or less a constant 14.45V. Without the diode block in series the charging current was 85-90A from the 100A rated alternator. I am much happier with the nearer 70A.
As mentioned despite all the many forum doomsayers over the last nine years the original alternator has now survived perhaps a few thousands of hours at 70-80A battery charging. We must be very lucky.

The battery is always at 100% SOC when the battery terminals reach 14.1V.
