Soon to have a boat that has an older Trace charging system that is hooked to both shore power and a 7kw generator. The current inverter is a modified sine 4k. The system is adequate for what it does and I don't really want to mess with it except it's either shore power or the gen. I will have enough roof space for 12-16 panels, looking at about 325watt. I am going to get 16 trojan 6v batteries and set up an entirely separate system with the solar and it's own MPPT charge controller as well as it's own inverters. My question is this, can I run a 30 amp circuit off one of the new inverters to the shore power connection of the old system to charge those batteries through the shore power connection on it's charge controller. Keep in mind I will keep both systems isolated from each other except this shore power cord. I don't think I will have much choice to use the same common ground.

Thanks for any guidance in advance.
