Extrapolating some information from the data, it would seem that sometime in the next couple years, we might be running short on conspiracy nut jobs.

Doubtful.

Well over half the people that get covid have very mild symptoms and require no hospitalization or intervention. That is their life experiences teach them it's blown way out of proportion; from their viewpoint it's easy to conclude the deaths they hear about are only the sick, obese, old, etc.

The lesser half (the ones that survive anyway) feel differently about it, so thus again a world divided.

From this paper, the most susceptible are those with chromosome 3p21.31. From normalized fatalities it looks like the largest at risk are native North Americans (AIAN):

Age-standardized data show that Hispanic, Black, and AIAN people are at least twice as likely to die from COVID-19 as their White counterparts and that Hispanic and AIAN people are at nearly two times greater risk of COVID-19 infection than White people.

I had the covid, as did my wife's friend and both our symptoms were very mild as colds go.. My anti-vaxxer neighbors got it and it almost hospitalized them. He lost 35 lbs in two weeks and was sick for a month.. and his wife actually turned gray for three days.. She looked like Skelator from one of those evil science fiction films.

Glad to hear you two made it through okay!

If you've friends, family or neighbors the disease has ravaged it's easy to see how very real it is. Fauci's news the other day that Omicron is so contagious that just about everyone is going to get it wasn't particularly welcome. But it's believable.
