I am going to wire in 2 240v plugs for both my grid pump and my inverter pump....it will make it easier to switch between them if the grid starts to get funky.
That might happen in the future. One plug for each one, separate wiring completely. Both pumps will draw about 6-8 amps per leg if I had to guess....Franklin 1 hp and Grundfoss SQ 200 3/4 hp. The Franklin has a big capacitor box so I don't think it draws all that much from the panel.The Grundfos doesn't need a cap start.
What 240v 3 prong plug would you use for this..? I am using 12/2 Romex.
