24V 100Ah vs 2X 12V 100Ah battery for 24V system? What are pros & cons? Which way would you go?

Oops, edit! Should be 24V 100Ah. Same capacity, discharge, etc I believe.

24V. All 8 cells are managed by the same BMS ensuring cell balance.

12V can only balance within themselves. The 12V batteries would need to be top balanced in parallel periodically. From:


If your batteries are in series and not being charged by a multi-bank charger it is recommended that you fully charge the batteries individually once a year. This will balance out the entire battery bank to ensure the batteries will reach its expected life span.
 
Nobody ever expects a battery to fail, but if one does (bad bms), it's possibly a bonus if your battery bank configuration can be reconfigured with less Ah, vs being dead in the water while a battery is being warrantied out.

that is not an option with only two 12v batteries in series.

Put me in the a single 24v battery camp.
