So funny y’all had also been thinking about outfitting the 1250 with some LFP juice! I ended up keeping it as with the original AGM chained to another 100ah AGM as both run like new, and instead build out a separate 300ah LFP bank that I can use to top off the Yeti as if plugged in to shore power! Both systems are charged with their respective MPPT controllers by the same set of solar panels mounted on roof of the van. The LFP has its own 2kW inverter. I decided to keep it this way to maximize longevity of both systems. The AGM prefers being topped off and the LFP prefers being continuously dis/charged bn 10-90%. The AGM also comes handy during freezing conditions to run the furnace to a temp where LFP can accept any charge. Who says you can’t have both worlds of chemistries? I see y’all had the same issues i ran into, not least of which the uselessness of the monitor! When all said and done, all that’s left of the Yeti we loved so much is it’s beautifully rugged aluminum casing, which in itself is a worthy trophy! Great concept tho, but having at least one AGM system proved imperative in cold climate, in our case, at least!
