Thought this was neat:

tl;dw: The founder of Palmetto State Armory won the original Han Solo "blaster" at auction (I think it was a mystery as to who had won it up until now). They are making a firearms museum at their Myrtle Beach location, with one of the exhibits being pop culture guns. I am assuming he has bought more iconic weapons from media.

I enjoyed the original Star Wars trilogy and actually liked some of the extended universe stuff (spent a lot of time playing Knights of the Old Republic and Star Wars Galaxies when I was younger), certainly don't care for any of the new crap they pump out now.

Their Myrtle Beach store is super nice, I've checked it out while on vacation. I am wondering what other guns he might have from popular media. My first thought was the suppressed shotgun (Remington 870 I think?) from No Country for Old Men, but there is a video out there on YouTube already where either Rock Island or Brownells or someone affiliated seems to own that one. Maybe he got ahold of the Beretta 92 that Bruce Willis used in Die Hard? :ROFLMAO: I was struggling to think of other "iconic" Hollywood guns that aren't just an off the shelf weapon. I'm not much of a movie person, so maybe you guys have some ideas.

I had an Mk4 Enfield, a Chinese SKS, and my Dads Browning auto 5 I kept for and gave to my son.

Other guns I gave up were a Cooey 22 turn bolt from the 40s ( every Canadian kid had one )
Grandfather's MK1 great war Enfield ( had a shot out bore)

Now I dont hunt...

PPL like this are doing nothing except educating Anti-Gunners to take all guns. What a RETARD. Don't argue like this cunt. Ppl that talk like this are females that stand while pee'ing

Ojne of the guns the liberals banned.
What can I say they ever have gone for all the battle rifles like the Garran ( a somewhat expensive gun in Canada )

I single out the SVT because they Russian dumped them cheap and sometimes re chambered them in .303

The point of a cheap gun you could walk through the bush with and no worry about damaging because it was cheap milsurp that fired cheap milsurp amo ( that you pulled bullets out and put soft points on... But you know eve that some guys just snipped the point off the military ammo and hunted with that.... )

I always wanted one of those cheap SVTs.

Import laws have been awful for years here, so it's much easier to buy domestically than import stuff. Even demilled old guns/parts kits for guns have just been a pain to get for a long time now. The days of cheap milsurp in the US are long gone... We can get them, it's just expensive such that unless you're a collector, you're not buying it. Most people for hunting nowadays just go pick up a new manufacture rifle because it's cheaper.

Nope, but it sure does look good when it's opened.

What bipod are you running?
I need to get one for one of my other builds.

I am curious how these JAKL 9mm pistols perform. Gotta say they look a lot more stylish than the random 9mm AR kits I've seen.

An SBR'd one would be right up the alley of what I would be looking for, I think. Appears to use CZ Skorpion mags.

The SBR version with the SCAR style stock looks absolutely sick, and I don't even like FDE:

I need to get out and shoot more, found this in the back of the safe forgot I had it still. Found the mags for it.

In other "cool guns PSA has made that I want" news:

The Bizon is one of those iconic guns that basically was unobtainable, so seeing a clone that has a somewhat affordable price (I think the launch price was $1200), and is chambered in proper 9x19 is really cool. It has a proper 55 round magazine too.

It also seems like they're using a Picatinny adapter on all these new guns, so if you want to SBR them or swap them for a difference brace, it's easy.

That said I can't imagine buying this over the JAKL 9mm above that I posted, the actual Bizon was notorious for issues with the helical mag, and I am sure this mechanism isn't likely to suddenly be more reliable in a PSA clone. :ROFLMAO:

Anyone know another about Hopkins and Allen?
I found this but not much else.

Would you fire it after a thorough cleaning?
.32 S&W, if I can find any?
Oh wow, that's a new one to me.

The biggest thing that kind of spooks me with really old, cheap revolvers, is the lockup (or lack thereof).

I have an old Rohm RG-14 that was given to me by a now-passed family member, because the thing was broken and he had no use for it. Thing is almost entirely made of some older version of Zamak, or some similar zinc alloy, and is really degraded. It's missing one part too that I haven't bothered to try to source.

But yeah, while the thing mostly functions, the lockup is absolutely abysmal. Like, it's so clapped out I'm 99% sure it would, at best, shear off part of the .22 projectile due to being misaligned, and at worst, explode.

Personally, if the lockup looked tight enough, I'd probably want to try shooting that thing at least once. Even though it kind of gives me some serious Kyber Pass copy gun vibes, that hexagonal barrel is pretty cool. The proportions of the thing make it look like a revolver someone who has never seen a real gun puts in a video game, from memory of what they think a revolver looks like.

I’m glad I got all my reloading supplies done 15 years ago, my .458 Socom runs me under 75 cents a round with 32.5 gr H110 and Barnes 350gr ballistic Tip solids. Just basic loads are north of $2.25.
