Here goes another wire question: I just bought 4 (used and large, but cheap and test perfect) 240W/37.3V/8.52A Panels. I was about to order a 4/1 Parallel Branch connector, 4/14g wire to 1/10g wire. Obvioulsy the 14g wire can handle the 8.5A. My concern is the 10g single wire from the parallel wires, being that 10g wire is rated for 30 Amps and 8.5x4 is basically 35 Amps.

I guess writing this answered my own dam question: Instead of a 4/1 go with 2 2/1 branch connectors (Still look to be 14/10 wire) and then branch them with a 8 or 6 gauge wire into the charge controller? Charge controller is a 40A controller.

Thanks for reading!!

10awg can handle 40A.

The concerns is if the MC4 connector is rated for the 35A. Many peak at 30A.

Why not 2S2P the array? Twice the voltage and half the current.
