I'm planning a solar powered 12V system for an amateur radio propagation beacon project. At some point in the future I'd like to add wind power to the system. I'd like to hear from anyone who has experience with a MPPT controller that includes wind turbine input & dump load output. I don't know if anyone manufactures such a controller; maybe the approach is by way of separate controllers for PV & wind and the two controllers meet at the battery bank input.
What say you?

Xantrax C40 is PWM, but it's a favorite for wind and diversion loads.

If you want MPPT, and you're made of money:

Classic 200 & 250.

Lastly, wind is often just not worthwhile. Do your homework before taking the plunge. LOTS of misconceptions about the benefits of wind.

I have several of the Midnite Classics, they're fantastic controllers and they're all set up for wind power, as well as solar or hydro, but not all at the same time. They will run one of those options very well, but not two or more concurrently as far as I know.
