Here's the conclusion of the matter:
After a very pleasant conversation with the resolutions team, EG4/Signature Solar decided to treat this as a warranty replacement claim and they gave me 2 free units and they paid for shipping for everything. Honestly, I was pretty shocked because I've read enough posts on here to assume that SS would be wholly disinterested in rectifying my egregious user error mistake, but they did! It's worth mentioning that between them not getting back to me, and me missing their emails, it took a full month before I spoke with someone on the phone for resolution. Regarding the equipment I bought in the meantime, I'm very pleased with the function and increased output of my 10k SunGold Power inverters (And I did read every page of the gigantic thread you were involved in
@42OhmsPA), but honestly if I hadn't have had to wait a month, I probably wouldn't have bought them. As
@Q-Dog said, I should have waited for resolution, but I never would have expected them to do what they did. I'm really impressed and pleased with the customer support of Signature Solar (even if it took
forever), and I'm doubly impressed with the tenacity of Signature Solar Jess who really did try to ensure things got straightened our for me.
Now that it's all settled, I'm coveting the even greater output that a pair of EG4 12000XP units could provide. If only I could find someone to buy a pair of new-in-the-box 6000XP's and a slightly used pair of Sungold Power SPH10k48sp units....
