I am planning to install 2 6000XP's. For supplemental charging I am planning to use 2 EG4 ChargeVerters connected to the grid vs connecting the inverters directly to the grid. I have plenty of PV to charge the batteries but want the ability to charge from the ChargeVerters as a last resort. I don't want the Grid connected directly to my inverters and don't care about any pass through. Am I breaking any rules or creating problems by using the grid for the ChargeVeters instead of a generator.

Thanks in advance

Mike E.

All good. Double conversion as it is called works very well here.
Same setup.
Only the Chargeverters connected to grid.
Got rid of all noise from the grid. Works wonders for my HiFi and electronics.
I got 2 watching my battery bank and keeping it from going under a certain volt level, aka battery "tender".
Only the PV charge the bank up fully.
Stopping the batteries from going under 3.10V per cell.
That is around 15% capacity here.

As long as your loads don't exceed the inverters you should be fine. I only have one 6000XP and it's right at the edge of my loads if I run the 240 volt AC, blower, and pool pump with 120 volt unbalanced loads from a subpanel. A hair dryer on can push me over the 3000 watts on one leg with these other loads. Without the AC In tied into the grid, I'll get an overload on the inverter and it will shut down for 5 minutes and then restart. With the AC In tied in to the grid, I just go into grid bypass mode and never lose power (unless the grid is out). The other nice thing about the AC In tied to the grid is that I can charge the batteries at anytime and do this remotely. With the Chargeverter, you have to have it manually set up to charge and you can't change the charging rate for the batteries remotely.

Nope! Using AC (Grid) instead of a generator is possible.
