6000xp New Firmware

It sounds like you can connect an existing grid-tie (PV inverter like Enphase, SolarEdge, or similar) to your 6000xp and you can pass the excess power back to the grid when your 6000xp is connected to the grid.

It should let you be able to use and store the grid-tie power on your battery bank but also sell the excess back to the grid instead of just shutting the grid-tie system down when your battery is full.

I believe the AC couple feature using the gen port was added last year it's not new. My understanding is you can take micro-inverters or any grid tie inverter connect it to the GEN port. The Gen port will output 240V simulating the grid which allows you to use it as another solar input using grid tie inverters. Nothing to do with backfeeding to the grid. I might do this for 2 older 250 watt panels that won't add up to 120VDC needed to get the 2nd MPPT going. I could throw some used micri-inverters under them and connect it to the gen port.

Longer thread about this update here. Thread

Correct, the AC Coupling feature isn’t new, but if you look at the changelog, it specifically says “export ac couple function” which is new.

Reading it is confusing I suspect they are talking about the grid tie inverter side should be set to sell back so the power goes to the 6000xp. Where else would go maybe needs to be rewritten.

Someone from the EG4TechSolutionsTeam should be able to clear this up

I just received a new 6000xp and upgraded to latest firmware. Grid tie export works with gen port now. I have a SE7600 solaredge on gen port and it will export while in standby mode. It even shows how much is going to the house load and how much is going to the grid on monitoring page.

export while in standby mode.
Do you mean bypass mode? As in grid used?

So you are saying while using grid and not battery on your 6000xp, you are using the solar edge on the gen port to AC couple your loads?

Kinda sucks that you cant do t his on battery tho, Is that right?

Yes in bypass mode ac couple working and back feeding excess power. Its supposed to ac couple while ac charging also but I dont have any batterys to test. The settings also have parameters to ac couple to charge the batterys. Just got it up and running today haven't had to chance to play around with it much

Interesting so it can charge batteries and sell back?

My understanding from the firmware notes is that yes it can, when its not inverting from the battery.
So you would need to be using grid for loads.

Kind of a waste in that sense but it is pretty useful for batteryless
Did this firmware fix the issues you guys were getting with bus voltage etc?
Eg4 is asking me to update my firmware to the latest version, I held off for the last 2 months because you guys were reporting issues with the previous update, so I want to be sure before I commit.
