600w solar, DIY 280ah 24v LIFEPO4 build thread for travel trailer.

I wired the panels 2s3p and then wrapped the Wired’s in 3M vinyl tape. Does anyone have any feedback if this was a good idea or not? Do people just leave there wire exposed to the sun, or do they protect them somehow?

Also, I drilled through the ceiling and ran the wires through a waterproof roof entry gland (connected to the roof with VHB tape).

Im going to end up routing the 10awg wire through cabinets, and then under the mattress and then into the storage under the bed where most of the components will be housed.
Why not put the 4 panels in series for 60v 1 amp ... what is the benefit pf 2 panel in parallel? i am running my 2 355w in series and works well

Is this your first solar build? When does one become a solar enthusiast? Did you have any help with this build? I also have a Samlex EVO 2224 and can't figure out how to wire AC power.

Yes this is my first build. You become a solar enthusiast once you hit a milestone of a certain number of posts on the forums (I don’t remember how many). I’ve received help with the build online only, and I’m not done yet. Unfortunately I am not the right person to give you wiring advice, I’m still figuring my system out.

After getting through the holidays and the crazy 4th quarter (I work in retail sales), I finally have to time to finish my project.

I top balanced my battery again and hooked up a different BMS. Daly 8s 24v 200a is what I went with. This weekend I hope to test the solar charging and put the system through tests to insure it all works properly.

So did you swap it from a 2P4S 12V to 8S 24V?

It was always 8s 24v. I just switched to a Bms rated for 200a instead of 100a that had 2awg leads instead of dual 8awg.

I officially have the system up and running! Today was the first day I turned on and tested the solar charging, and everything seems to be working well.

Did you figure out how to connect your AC power? And by “AC” power do you mean “alternating current” or “air conditioner”?
If you mean air conditioner, I split mine off to run on its own breaker from shore power instead of through the system from the charger/inverter.

Feel free to pm me if you still need help with it.
