Had a couple of random issues and shipping damage (they could avoid it by using larger handles that protect the terminals like the ecoworthy), but I liked it. I do not use communication, and I liked the screen. Check out the cell voltage differential. Quite impressive, was the best I tested so far.

Has a JBD and I have never broke one of those yet. And I have had a box of them.

What do you guys think?

Also mentioned the forum at the end of the video. Can't wait to see what people start posting in the new sections added!

Also interesting that voltage controlled Bms' are getting more consistent results then columb controlled systems.
Kind of looks like battery manufacturing is now better controlled then shunt resistor manufacturing.

Nice review, we would love to see what cells are in it.

Take a look under the balance lead where they bolt on to the buss bars. I found the glue got under the terminals. It still made good contact but it was all over the ring terminal.

I do like the bolted cells and the off the shelf BMS. It gives this battery enclosure unlimited life as long as I can find cells to fit into it.

If this battery is connected to other packs the BMS/LCD will stay powered on even if the breaker is off. They get their power from the terminals. I was tempted to add a on/off button on the front of mine.

I was able to add a USB for Solar Assistant to my Vatrer but I had to give up the Bluetooth port to do it. It could have been a RJ45 for RS485 but I did the USB with available parts. A choice between that big display and Bluetooth, the Display won.

It was one of the easiest rack battery that I ever had to balance all cells on the 2nd cycle and never had an issue now that it is on its 38th cycle.

A few small improvements to this battery and they really have something very nice.

For a portable system, like a hand truck system, I would prefer the screen.
But for a permanent install, I would want to monitor it with Solar Assistant.
But it does seem to be impressive, for cell and build quality.
I totally agree. Thinking of using the Vatrer as a UPS style stand alone. Love that big display
In a big battery array the smaller 3U packs are very nice but if they got the price down lower on the VTR I would but a bunch more.

$890 shipped directly from VATRER website if use a discount code.

I have nine of these bought up. Ive only unboxed 5 of them right now and using them just as a back up system since i dont have any panels up.

Thanks for testing these Will. I was hesitant to go this route over EG4 but the price difference talked me into these.

Nice review. I do like the bolted in cells so if one goes bad I can just replace it. Who knows in the future if the company is gone for warranty. I have to ship to USA then cross the border to Mexico PIA to ship a bad one back.

How important is battery coms to a EG4 6000XP? I was going to get some new EG4 batteries but they new lower cost ones are looking better and better every day.

Well I was another person that judged the book by the cover.
They are not pretty or sleek looking but they do seem to be very good.
I actually prefer the fold in handles, I just think they need to put better foam protection on the front of the box.
The only thing that kills it for me is the lack of Com ports. If they made a new version that had the ability to do closed loop communications I might give them a try.
Loved the video Will. It must take a lot of time to do all of that testing and video editing.
Thanks.

I think the eco-worthy looks much better and like the handles better as well. Also, eco-worthy as a company seems to be solid

I like mine, after making the changes suggested on this site I have a nicely balanced battery so far.
Works well with my 2 Vestwoods with a 4% average difference in reported soc..
After 21 cycles and down to 25% checked just now my cell difference is at .004 v.
I think I will order some more.
Greg

The cells balanced as they are is very impressive for a cheap unit. I must have missed it in the vid...cell manuf?BMS manuf?Pre-charge?
