Trouble free, zero maintenance for 16 years, too bad they don't make them anymore. No obstructions to slow down or create turbulence. A great performer in light winds, while alsobeing bullet proof in high winds,.Self furling about 28 MPH winds, with a large dump load control box if the grid goes down. The tapered steel pole was one of three holding up a Sinclair gas station sign, and one day my crane service got a call to remove them as the station was being torn down. They were going to be cut up and hauled off for scrap, I traded my crane wrok for them, a great deal for all concerned. I sold the other two, and still made a profit, besides getting mine for free.

Thank for sharing! Be careful who you mention that to or "they" will come get it and put it in the safe with the 500 mpg carburetor and the formula for the tires that never wear out. Seriously though, that is nice to see! Nothing replaces a very heavy oversized alternator coupled with a smaller rotor than every other manufacturer used. Bergey had something like it with thier 850w and 1500w machines that haven't been built for probably 30 years. Those things were tanks.

It would be neat to know how many they built and how many are still flying. Every so often I still see a few of it's big brother, the 10 kW (?), but I'm just driving by so no idea if they are still actually in service.
