About to give up on purchasing EG4 products.

I placed an order for the GridBoss and Flexboss21 from a reseller for EG4 and they claim it is on backorder (never mentioned this until a couple of weeks after order was placed on Dec 2). I contacted a couple of other resellers like Signature Solar and they have had it in stock. I then contacted EG4 and one of their people said they have it but not sure if there is an allocation issue for that vendor. They requested I send them any details or email conversations with the vendor, and they would escalate to management. I forwarded the email conversation with the vendor to EG4 on Dec 31. However, I never received a reply from EG4 that they received my email (shows sent on my end). I sent another email to EG4 earlier today requesting a status. After several hours passed, I tried calling multiple times but get rolled over to VM.

It is sad enough that the reseller I ordered from was not honest regarding availability. Now, I have to go thru hoops to try and get a straight answer from the manufacturer. If anyone here works for EG4, maybe they can shed some light on what is going on and if anything can be done to save a potential customer.
 
Who is the vendor? Someone may know their username if they are on here.
Signaturesolar and Current Connected are on here and usually respond. Not sure about the others.

I've only heard good things from S2 and Current Connected. I'm sure other store fronts are fine to buy from.

BigBattery is who I ordered the EG4 stuff from and they are a valid reseller for EG4. However, they claim they are waiting on EG4 for the items. EG4 is saying they have stock but there could be an issue with allocation. Therefore, it appears this issue could be with EG4, but I don't know and cannot get a response from EG4. I do know that other vendors like SS had it in stock. In my opinion this does not reflect well on either BigBattery or EG4.

Seems like big battery oversold their allocation. Why would you blame EG4? If it’s in stock elsewhere why not just cancel your order and purchase where there is availability?

Sounds fishy..... allocation issue could be Big Battery hasnt paid there bill! 😅

You should cancel your order and give one of the others a shot.

@SunSurge I'm so sorry you've had trouble with your purchase. Without it being purchased through Signature Solar, I can't get any stock information from your vendor, but I can see about helping you reach EG4. I will tag them here and also shoot my contact a message :)

I never said I blamed EG4. I said it could be an issue with EG4 regarding allocation, but I don't know and the reason I contacted them (well one of the reasons). However, EG4 never responded to my email with the info they had me send them over a week ago and a second follow up email. In addition, I called two or three times and left my number to contact me. So far, nobody reached out. That is called poor customer service.

I only purchased from them because of the holiday special and free shipping. They are a valid reseller according to EG4. I now regret ordering from them.
 
Cancel the order and order from a company with stock. Can't blame EG4 that a retailer is selling on backorder.

I don't know for sure that BB sold on backorder but could have. EG4 was supposedly looking into that and was to get back to me. Like I said in an earlier post, EG4 has yet to contact me back. However, EG4 can drop BB as a reseller if they wanted as it causes issues for them. The person I spoke with at EG4 even admitted that.

I tried calling a few times and left my phone number, but nobody has tried contacting me. BigBattery sent me an email that said their management has contacted EG4 about sending them a few. This was another reason I wanted to speak with someone at EG4 to verify if that is possible or if they recommend cancelling. Reordering from another vendor like SS would be 10% higher plus shipping etc. so that is also why I am hesitant to cancel.

If BB didn't have it in stock when they sold it to you, then it is a Backorder. If they had it in stock, they would have shipped it.

You are asking a manufacturer to solve a retailer problem. That's like asking Honda to solve a problem with your generator order from Homedepot. You are lucky if you get a response in 2 months from a manufacturer.

Let's say you also ordered q-cell panels, and had the same problem. Good luck on getting q-cell to do anything.

You're so welcome! I completely understand. It may be worth calling in to our sales team and seeing if they can price-match your purchase. It isn't always guaranteed and the quote has to be current, but it's a possibility! Let me know if you'd like help connecting with them. I ordered from Big Battery three times in 2022. Each transaction was painful for various reasons. I like their batteries, but I won't be doing business with them again. I have to deal with enough insanity from my neighbors. Don't need more.
 
If BB didn't have it in stock when they sold it to you, then it is a Backorder. If they had it in stock, they would have shipped it.

True, it may not have been in stock but perhaps their system showed it was at the time of order (who knows). Nevertheless, BB should have followed up and stated it was on backorder. I am not asking the manufacturer to solve the problem but to1. verify this is a valid reseller 2. verify where there is an issue with supply etc.

Could be a host of reasons why EG4 is not allocating to BB and the main reason I am trying to get EG4 to respond so I can make an informed decision on whether to cancel and move on. BigBattery is communicating but delayed and only if I press them. Very poor CS.
