About to give up on purchasing EG4 products.

BigBattery is who I ordered the EG4 stuff from and they are a valid reseller for EG4. However, they claim they are waiting on EG4 for the items. EG4 is saying they have stock but there could be an issue with allocation. Therefore, it appears this issue could be with EG4, but I don't know and cannot get a response from EG4. I do know that other vendors like SS had it in stock. In my opinion this does not reflect well on either BigBattery or EG4.
I do not like that company. Only company I won't work with again.

You're so welcome! I completely understand. It may be worth calling in to our sales team and seeing if they can price-match your purchase. It isn't always guaranteed and the quote has to be current, but it's a possibility! Let me know if you'd like help connecting with them. I can let them know the situation ahead of time and have them give you a call.

I may consider going with SS if they price-match and if I cancel with BB. I will know for sure once I hear back from EG4. I did order a pallet of solar panels from SS and is due to be delivered tomorrow. I will say they were quick and so far, so good.

I literally complained about bait & switch tactics of websites yesterday on here. Sure, this isn't technically Bait & Switch. It's actually worse. BigBattery is using funds from a purchaser of a product they advertise to be "in stock". They have purchasing power with those funds. Websites are ripping consumers off daily now & these bigger ticket solar items are a perfect example.
Most websites have ZERO actual stock. They are a pass through shell site. Click, pay...funds transfer & your item ships from a distribution hub of a MASS Wholesaler. I write insurance & these shell sites are big business because you're just a marketing website shell advertising items in stock from a massive distribution center that every other website in your product category ships out of.

If I had to guess, you bought a product that was "technically" in stock in a distribution center, but a bulk of orders from all these pass through websites came through and websites with more buying power were shipped in the in stock product off the massive shelf.
The "restock" of that warehouse then is coming from the actual manufacturer & you get to wait until that truck hits the distributor. Even then, you're not really first in line.

Thanks, highly likely what happened.

We apologize for the delayed response! Please send us a DM with your name and email address, and we’ll look into this further for you.

I spoke to a lady at EG4 on Dec 31 and she said to send her the email conversation with BigBattery which I did. I sent two emails to sales@eg4electronics.com. First one was on Dec 31 @2:33pm CST after speaking with EG4 and the second email was on Jan 6 @2:47pm CST to request a status. They both have my name and email address in them.

If the relationship with BB is strained for some reason (say non-payment or slow payment, or something else), then EG4 may not want to comment about the real issue as they would be accused of speaking bad of one of their suppliers. Likely if there is something going on they won't or cannot comment without risking a lawsuit from BB (especially given Will says BB threatened to sue him over a review).

I had that thought as well however, if that is the case they need to evaluate whether to continue doing business with such an entity. (accidentally double posted please delete).

If you are having trouble contacting a human at BB, you might try the bookkeeping department when you call them. That's the only way I was able to get anything done when I was in limbo with them. Twice.
Yea… always ask for account receivable… you will vet a person quickly…

Did you see my reply yesterday? They have all my contact information as noted in my reply. I have not heard anything from EG4
For what it's worth Dec. 24th through whatever full work week following Jan 1 is the lowest staff point in any company's work year. You, me, everyone will try to hit that Jan 2nd through the next weekend as vacation. EG4 is probably the same. Not every country is Chrismas obsessed, but we ALL have a Jan 1 holiday worldwide. Customer service 2 week backlog of unanswered comm's. And email volume during that period is sky high due to everyone being off work.
But....

time to move on. big battery isn't going to help you and other companies have offered to help.

Hopefully payment was made by credit card, not debit card.

There's also something about charging a card and not shipping within 30 days. It constitutes something, possibly a federal offense. I read it on this forum.
Charging a card for the full amount and delivering over 30 days usually requires at least a waver. I can see taking a deposit and calling you before it ships. The customer will know it is on its way and approves to pay the balance. Solves two issues.

I am fully aware of holiday schedules and short personnel. However, if they answer the phone (which they initially did) then it's game on. In addition, the lady I spoke with said it could be a couple days before they can respond. More than a week transpired and still no response via phone or email. I have made multiple attempts to contact them and nothing. That is what most call horrible customer service.

I did end up canceling. However, the ball was in EG4's court awaiting allocation according to BB but there was no way to confirm this because EG4 would not respond to any of my emails or calls. Only one other company (not companies) offered to try and help (mainly SigntureSolarJess).

As mentioned in some of my replies, I did cancel the order with BigBattery yesterday. I explained the situation to someone in their accounting department and he said they have been having issues with their procurement department and apologized. He said they did add a distribution point in Commerce TX and hopes to do business again in the future (yeah right). While he was working on canceling my order, I had a side conversation with him and asked if they were impacted by the fires as I noticed his office was about 6 miles from the Kenneth fire and 8 miles from the Hurst fire. He said they were closed the day before but were able to come in yesterday and that they may have to evacuate again. Good thing I canceled yesterday 😟

I placed an order for the GridBoss and Flexboss21 from a reseller for EG4 and they claim it is on backorder (never mentioned this until a couple of weeks after order was placed on Dec 2). I contacted a couple of other resellers like Signature Solar and they have had it in stock. I then contacted EG4 and one of their people said they have it but not sure if there is an allocation issue for that vendor. They requested I send them any details or email conversations with the vendor, and they would escalate to management. I forwarded the email conversation with the vendor to EG4 on Dec 31. However, I never received a reply from EG4 that they received my email (shows sent on my end). I sent another email to EG4 earlier today requesting a status. After several hours passed, I tried calling multiple times but get rolled over to VM.

It is sad enough that the reseller I ordered from was not honest regarding availability. Now, I have to go thru hoops to try and get a straight answer from the manufacturer. If anyone here works for EG4, maybe they can shed some light on what is going on and if anything can be done to save a potential customer.
Some places close from Christmas thru New Year. This is so people can spend holiday time with their families.
