I don't think AC breakers are needed until you have more than 1 unit on a *leg. Correct?

AIO 1 goes to 1 side of breaker box to make 120v. AIO 2 goes to to other side to make 240v.

When I add #3&4. I'll need AC breakers between all 4 AIO (50a) & the breaker box. Correct?

Until I have 4, I don't need AC breakers between the AIO & the breaker box correct? As long as each AIO is on its own *leg.

*not sure if "leg" is a correct term. I mean a 120v side of a breaker box. A 240v breaker box has 2 legs.

I have MPP Solar 3kw 48v.

Thank you!

First: I am assuming the AIOs are set up with a coms channel and configured for split phase.

For a single breaker, I would not bother with a breaker between the box and the inverter, but the hot line from the AIO should be hooked to a breaker inside the box.

With two inverters stacked to create 240V split phase, each hot line should go to 1/2 of a dual pole breaker in the box.

I have not looked at 4 inverter set-ups enough to advise how the breakers should be set up.
