adding 12v windmill to 48v solar system

I have an old windmill (KISS) from my days being a boat hippy, and I'd like to use it in my solar setup. Because why not, free power. BUT it puts out +-12v AC current, turned into 12v DC by a rectifier, and the rest of my system is 48v. Can this still be used, maybe with one of those golf cart 12-48v converters or with some other device? Or is it now completely useless?

I saw (in this forum) negative comments on DC-DC conversion with bucks for eolic because the current is very variable. This leaves you (I guess) with some exotic&expensive charge controllers that should exist for such situations, or some more diy solutions like the one in the video.

I do understand that integrating the turbine into your system is the ideal, but If you were to pay more than 100 USD/EUR or such integration would pose risks or additional aging to any elements of your system, perhaps a separate/independent 12V system is the best. You can use it for charging laptops and smaller devices.

Let more people say something. I am a noobie.
