Adding batteries to existing solar system

Hi all, I have 6x 300W solar panels and a Solax X1 Mini 2.0 inverter which were installed by a local company a few years ago.

I know nothing about batteries but I find the topic interesting. Is it possible to add batteries to my existing setup?

Would it be as simple as buying a SOK 206Ah battery, a solar charge controller and wiring it to the Solax inverter?

Guess what are you planning on doing with batteries? Backup(manual or automatic), Load Shifting, Grid assist?

You don't have very much in panels so I am guessing just backup. Manual back up you through the main and back feed your panel. Auto backup the best way is to get a hybrid inverter. There are also all-in-one units for backup.
