Adding battery storage

I have a Solax X1 Hybrid inverter on my system and wish to add battery storage.

The problem I have is that the sticker on the side of the unit says the battery voltage is 85v to 400v. However, the user manual says a maximum of 350v, no mention of a minimum.

Obviously, I'd like to use a 48v server rack style of battery but am worried about the voltage required. I also note that most 48v batteries can't be used in series.

Regards

Don't understand the reason for the question, the inverter is existing, as are the solar panels. I'm wanting to buy a battery.

I am surprised at the wide voltage available for the battery. The only reason I am commenting is all the systems I looked at capped out at 48 volts, and this seems like it could go up to 400 volts DC. THat’s supposed to be a dangerous voltage to work with.

That link mentions its designed to use a proprietary battery between a quantity of 2 and 7.

”The X1 Hybrid Inverter is compatible with Pylontech H48050-15S batteries. The inverter can be connected to a minimum of 2 batteries and a maximum of 7 batteries. The batteries need a SC0500A-100S controller.”

Yes, but what will cost more:
- a replacement 48V hybrid inverter + the 48V batteries you can work with and readily get hold of/build yourself and probably expand later if/as needed, or
- a specialist HV battery compatible with your existing inverter?

My point being that perhaps your existing inverter isn't the most suitable option.

But if you just want to buy a HV battery once, get it installed by a professional and be done with it, all good.

Understand, yes I did think of that. Hopefully I can use the X1 if I can find 48v that allow series or if 48v into the X1 is OK. I'm get conflicting info.
