Will's milk crate 2.0 design has an ~2" wire connecting the negative battery terminal to the negative terminal of the fuse box. My question is, would there be any concern splicing/incorporating the AiLi battery monitor shunt into the battery-to-fuse box wire?

Shunt always goes on the negative. (Unless you found a very odd one)
Positive goes to the fuse box.

In Will's milk crate version 2.0, both battery terminals go directly to the fuse box. That's why I questioned splicing into the 2" negative wire between the battery and fuse box.

It's been a while since I seen that video. I guess that the fuse block he used has a separate bus bar for the negative?
But to answer your question, yes.
The shunt should be located between the negative battery terminal and everything else. (Loads and charging)
