ALPHA 5 no longer made? Pro "not" backwards compatible? Mix and match option(s)?

Hello All,

I have one Rich Solar Alpha 5 48V battery.
-I'm trying to get another one, but a couple sources say it's discontinued.
-The one place I have it in a shopping cart (actually three in the cart) say it's just back ordered.
-I've got two that say discontinued, and two say it's just back ordered, gee whiz.

My question is, I looked at the replacement, it the Rich Solar Alpha 5 'Pro' (mine is a non-pro).
-I read somewhere it's not backwards compatible. I reached out in one chat session and someone at SolarTown said the same it's not backwards compatible.

Are batteries able to mix and match?
-Can I get a different one and use it w/what I have?
-A few weeks ago I purchased a Growatt SPF 12000T DVM-US MPV | 12kW Split Phase Off-Grid Inverter
-But I purchased this battery w/a different vendor.
(I'm setting them up over the weekend, hoping.)

Can you let me know about compatibility?
-Mix and match options?

Looks like the old one is 15-cell and the new one is 16-cell, so you can (and must) not connect them together.

So are all the alpha 5 pro 16 cell packs? Found what I thought was a fair deal on 2 of the pro models, hoping they are a decent choice...
