I have seen adds for $4000 industrial robots doing work in factory settings, but I got to think not here in the USA
if I go to a company with industrial robots doing work they are caged.
and the door to the cage needs things to happen before the door can be opened
in the Atlas video they use a hockey stick

We use Fanuc robots with water jets at work. One went rogue once and smacked an employee in the head. He bypassed a light curtain and deserved it. Now they have light curtains and floor scanners in the cells.

Most of them are caged / protected because of the enormous pressures flowing through whatever is on the head, the water jets runs ~30,000 psi; I don't remember the size of the orifice.

floor mats yet there is no osha regulations on industrial robots, so it seem the
cost of lost time injuries makes the cost of safeguards practical, without government
involvement(osha).

I have seen a couple near fatalities in the last 5 years they say its the workers fault.
People and automated machines need fail safe systems to prevent accidents.
Its not the machines fault its the people who make mistakes...
I seen things awful things.
Ever seen whats left of a bunny you hit square on with a tyre at 60mph...
People are just as messy when the machines are moving faster than than you can escape...
Mind not on the job and make a poor choice.
