Ampinvt 80A MPPT question

GM to All. I just got a new Ampinvt 80A MPPT with the intent of adding 2 new panels (for a total of 1000 watts). There's a sticker on the MPPT that states Max PV VOC 150V. However the the literature and the manual states:

"Fit for solar Panel: 1140W(12V); 2260W(24V); 3420W(36V); 4540W(48V); Max input Voltage:150V PV; MPPT best working voltage range: DC18V-DC80V(12V)".

So my the question is, can I use this MPPT on a 1000 watts system with a Max VOC of 115 volts (2S2P 10x100 watt panels)?

TIA

Bill

MPPT on a 1000 watts system with a Max VOC of 115 volts
Yes it's OK, the recomendation of up to 80 volts is for maximum efficiency of the conversion process. Sectio 7 of the instructions shows typical efficiency graphs. Note the maximum power voltages will be lower that total Voc, around 85 to 90 volts.

1000 watts system with a Max VOC of 115 volts (2S2P 10x100 watt panels)?
Mistype here? Do you mean two parallel strings of 5 panels?

nope, but I wrote the configuration incorrectly. I currently have 4S2P (800 W) but I want to change to a 5S2P (1000W) array, if this MPPT can handle the voltage. Sorry for the mistake.

What the 150 volt maximum refers to is the voltage of the entire panel array. Each panel puts out a max voltage (VOC) and max wattage. For the 100 watt panels I have It's about 20 volts and 100 watts per panel. When you hook a bunch of panels together you add the voltages and/or the watts to get the total depending on how you do it. with 10 panels you could make 2 strings of 5 panels in series each for 100 volts and 100 watts then put the strings in parallel for a total of 100 volts and 200 watts for the array. The charge controller says the optimum array voltage is between 18 volts and 80 volts if you have a 12 volt battery bank. The 5s2p array above is above the recommended voltage range but below the max voltage so it will work nicely.

The total wattage of the array increases with larger voltage battery banks up to 4548 watts if your battery bank is 48 volts.

So here is my math. 5S2P (23.xV 5.xA)=115V5A. 5S2P (23.xV 5.xA)=115V 5A. Total= 115V 10A. I didn't understand the "80 volts is for maximum efficiency of the conversion process". So now that I understand the "80 volts is for maximum efficiency of the conversion process" I know I'm good to go.

Tnx for the input & enjoy your Sunday and coming week.
