Another EG4 Dongle Issue

It looks like this is wrong in the docs https://eg4electronics.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/EG4-Wifi-Dongle-Troubleshooting-Guide.pdf so I'm assuming it is actually wrong in the application and it made it into the docs as well and they just shipped the code with the wrong lines having the port and IP swapped. I didn't check what it was when it was working last week. Nevertheless my brand new 6000xp dongle is properly configured but it refuses to complete the re-registration with the monitor.

Like I said above "I love the new Eg4-6000xp's but this dongle nonsense is really getting lame." Just another example for the EG4 software team to ponder.  :fp2:fp2

You guys are lucky you can even see dongle parameters. This is all I get when trying to dongle connect. Nada, nothing

I tired running EG4 monitor and SA at the same time and it was a total failure. As others have said love the inverter hate the comms and app. Lilke how are they testing this shit before releasing it?

In Android, Bluetooth will not connect to a new device if GPS is not turned on, it's been like that for several years.

I really don't like how the hardware defaults back to Chinese control when there is a problem and there is no local manual override. I was able to join the dongle and I did see that port 8000 was active but it was not responding to normal http on 10.10.10.1 so I assume it is some secret protocol. If China gets PO with the US are they going to turf my solar system?

EDIT: Problem resolved, was a network issue on my end. Still unable to reset the dongle though...

@EG4TechSolutionsTeam Bringing this back to top. I just changed out a router in my system and everything else can connect to wifi except for the 6000XP dongle. I went through all the troubleshooting steps but still get the flashing light on the cloud icon. Notably, the unit will not reset by holding the reset button. I did a full power down of the inverter and still no luck. Any advise so I can get remote monitoring back up?

Can you share what you did to resolve this? I am having the same issue.

I was able to reset it before, but now with a new asus router, it does not want to connect and I am having many similar issues as every one else has been having.

I never had any flashing leds I got mine to all connect from the get go after some figuring out how to do it.

With a new router as mentioned in here make sure the 2.4 and 5ghz networks are separated and make the password very simple. No special characters or spaces. I made the ssid very normal too.

I was able to fix my issue. I made a new thread here, since it may not be related:
