Any DVM meter taking more than 10A to 20A needs some very large interconnect terminals capable of handling the large current.
Higher voltage capability is limited by their ESD surge protection and PCB layout. You don't want an accidental static electricity zap to blow out your meter so they have voltage clamping protection.

I think I worded my question a bit wrong. The type of unit Im looking for has a real robust shunt able to handle 100A. The one I got right now Can measure 300V and got an 100A shunt. The capacitors is even able to handle the 320 open circuit voltage of my solar array but wont display above 300V.
