I'm super fed up with dried up old a** ink cartridges that were new but now clogged, my printer locking itself down when I tried to use a refill, and the fact that ink is about as expensive as heroin.

I don't print often, so dried ink is a real issue for me. Brand new heads will dry out in a few weeks of non-use, and the printers I've had have anti-ink-tamper crap in them that wont let you use 3rd party or refilled cartridges.

I'm looking for a reasonably priced laserjet, preferably used (due to cost), that takes 3rd party toners, I only need black and white, and due to my other post, I'd much prefer if its wired or at least has an easily removable wireless module. I'm picturing one of the smaller business models. Print quality takes a back seat to quantity vs cost too. I mostly print text, shipping labels, manuals and such, and simple black and white lines, like non-detailed maps, so I have no need for a super high quality unit. A top scanner would be cool, but its whatever, I really just need to print stuff.

My issue is that shopping for used printers is quite difficult, you are just bombarded with ads for new ones instead, and I don't really know any brands or models to look up to start with in the first place. Does anyone know any brands, and preferably series or models that you have used and know to be decent? My budget is up to $200, but I'll go to $300 if I need toner and its a good printer. I'm in middle Tennessee if that makes any difference. Also, I'll never buy another HP. I went all Office Space on it after it firmware-locked itself because I tried to use an ink refill. In my book, a business model like that isn't worth handing another dime to. Other than HP, any suggestions are welcome.

Thanks for any help!

P.M me if you have one you want to part with, but I have a nose for scammers!

Go to Facebook market place and get a commercial type laser printer. Real laser printers usally let you see the number of pages that have been printed. Look for one with a low count and with cheap carts on Amazon. Never going back to consumer grade printers.

And yet you own a laserjet...

Just kidding, the last time I bought one was a when the printers with free (full) cartridges were cheaper than a set of cartridges. I have since switched to laser printer as they are way cheaper per page.
