Would this be an ok micro inverter for someone trying to test out solar for the first time?

What are your thoughts? It will feed up to 700 watts into the house/grid from DC to AC current.

The most power it can feed is the power of the panel. Around 500w is the high side for residential panels.

Buy a used panel locally, and an old enphase locally or off ebay. Play with that.

It said max power input "800Watt"

I have 4 X 195W panels each 12V. So it seems like this would work for the array. I would have a max of 780W and 48V which appears to be within the specs of this microinverter.

You are talking about a situation of 1 microinverter to 1 large solar panel. 1 to 1 ratio right?

Also, have you ever heard or seen this type of microinverter in use before?

Oh, I didn't see it was a dual panel inverter. 4s into it should be ok assuming Voc is ok.

For playing around, it is fine. Make sure you don't accidentally export to the grid (exceed house consumption).

For long term use, I haven't seen good reviews for off brands.
