Not mandatory.

"If you hurt yourself or screw it up, physically or from a regulatory basis, sorry. It's on you."

"We can make typos in the data sheet."

"We may sell something substandard without a warranty." disclosure of said condition should be made.

No warranty may be created or extended by sales or promotional materials on these items.

"don't care if the salesperson says you get a lifetime warranty. You get what the literature says you get."

Each party hereby irrevocably waives its rights to trial by jury in any Action or proceeding arising out of this agreement or the transactions relating to its subject matter.

This may not be legally binding.

"We may advise you, but you're still responsible for any mistakes."

"We're not liable for any damages our stuff may cause."

Where does it say that?

That's simply a statement. It makes no claim as to warranty. Also important to include the next sentence containing, "strongly advise," which is not a mandatory requirement. At no time does it say that the warranty is void. It basically says that if you (or a professional for that matter), screw something up, they're not liable.

Here are the exclusions:

Warranty Exclusions - Signature Solar has no obligation under this limited warranty for product subjected to the following conditions (including but not limited to):
  • Damages incurred during installation or removal,
  • Damages caused during mishandling of product,
  • Inappropriate Environmental Exposure,
  • Damages caused by improper maintenance,
  • Tampering, Altering, and/or Disassembly of product,
  • Using product in applications other than which it was intended for by manufacturer,
  • Lightning, Fire, Flood, or Acts of God,
  • Any product whose serial number has been altered, defaced, or removed,
I don't see, "if you don't use a professional installer."

The T&C says, "we recommend you hire a pro. If something gets screwed up, someone gets injured, or other damages occur, we're not responsible."

@sunshine_eggo is right - we don't REQUIRE you to be a licensed electrician to work with our equipment, and installing it yourself does not in itself void your warranty. Those statements are there to let people know that we recommend it because the likelihood of failure is vastly increased if you don't 100% know what you are doing. We will 100% stand behind our products and honor the warranty for any manufacturing failure. That being said - a majority (like 90% or more if I had to wager) of 'warranty claims' are actually installation errors that result in damage to the equipment. The failure rate on our inverters and batteries from a manufacturing standpoint is ridiculously low. That being said, we are working on developing brand new products and there are sometimes issues with firmware etc as we dial in the entire process, but I've literally only seen a handful of products where there was truly a manufacturing error. In fact, because our actual failure rate is so obscenely low that we often do warranty work on products damaged by customer use and chalk it up to a learning curve.

Folks are pretty much SOL as a practical matter if it gets to litigation. There is no joy.

ROFLOL... Finally people are catching the Double-Speak with exit clauses throughout.
Yet to realize though... Rackables while "tidy" are not so cost-effective. Their ORIGINAL Purpose was for Telecom Battery Backups, NOT for Residential ESS. But Shhhh mustn't tell a soul.
