Anyone have EG4 LL-S Batteries and EG4 LifePower4 V1 Batteries Communicating with EG4 6000XP Inverter?

It is pins 7 & 8 only. I plugged in the Lifepower4 V1 as the master with all other batteries off. The LCD screen on 6000XP shows 100 AH and the phone app show the same along with voltage and SOC but the web based monitoring app does not show the battery. The battery is able to charge just fine by itself. I don’t think it worked correctly even when I originally had it hooked up the the EG4 3k inverter as it never showed the available AH left on the battery.
Have you tried with all the other batteries (LL-S) connected together?

Yes, I had previously posted pictures of the cabinet with the 4 LL-S batteries and the 1 LifePower4 V1 battery earlier in this thread. As you can see from the pictures, it does recognize the 4 LL-S batteries, but no the LifePower4 V1 battery.

Could you share a picture of the LL-S battery's firmware using BMS Tools? This will help us verify and consult with our battery technician.

I'll share what worked for my setup. I have a cabinet with a mix of EG4-LL, EG4 LL-S, and several EG4 LifePo4 V1.
  • Updated Multipack Firmware across all batteries.
  • EG4-LL-S as ID 1 (Master)
  • Use CAN connection on EG4-LL-S to EG4 6000XP
  • Standard straight Cat5E patch cables between batteries & 6000XP inverter.
IMPORTANT: Perform Cold-Start, Completely Shutdown Inverter and Batteries
  1. Power on EG4-LL-S Battery ID 1 (Master)
  2. Power on Rest of Batteries in order
  3. Wait a couple minutes
  4. Power on EG4 Inverter
  5. Wait a few minutes, the EG4 6000XP will report 100ah single batt, then report correct ah total several minutes later.

Can you show a picture of your batteries and expand on what firmware changes you made to the LifePower4 V1 batteries?

And what are the two unique configurations? For EG4, why are they not labeled with something more intuitive?
Multipack version is designed for use to communicate with other models.

Which battery is this for?

The LL-S batteries with the multipack firmware should be reading version Z0T12. The Lifepower4 V1 should read version 3.4
Z0T12 did not work. Screwed up the communication protocol and 6000XP did not recognize the batteries. Reverted back to Z0T18 per Signature Solar. 6000XP recognizes 4 LL-S batteries. Still not recognizing the LifePower4 V1.

I'm ready to get an estimate of what my pro rata warranty is on the LifePower4 V1 battery. I've wasted too much time on it.

Mr Baker, I’ve posted a similar issue with EG4LLS battery firmware updates. I recently tried to update my 3 batteries and totally lost comms with my 6000xp. I was wait listed for sometime with tech support but finally figured out that the update reset my comms protocols on 2 of the 3 batteries and that effected my comms. Got that back finally in my own.

So what I was trying to do is just what you’ve described. I was looking to get the EG4Monitoring site to show details on the batteries. My update did not get me this.

How can I get my firmware information as you’ve shown? (Z0T12, e.g.)

Just talked with Signature Solar. Found out that the LL-S V2 firmware in the multipack is the right firmware for communicating with the LifePower4 V1 battery, but you'll have to change the CAN Protocol on the master LL-S to P07-LUX. You'll also have to have a modified Ethernet cable with pins 3 & 6 cut between the last LL-S battery and the LifePower4 V1. Please note that you'll lose the Rapid Shut Down capabilities of the LL-S batteries.

That tends to defeat the benefit of paying more for the LL-S batteries so I'm staying with the Z0T18 on the LL-S batteries and I'll do without having any communication with the LifePower4 V1 battery in closed loop.

Looking to see if anyone has gotten EG4 LL-S batteries and EG4 LifePower4 V1 batteries communicating with an EG4 6000XP inverter (or a 12K or 19k or the 12000XP).
I've updated my two older LL-S batteries with the latest multipack firmware and have them and two new LL-S batteries showing up in the 6000XP inverter. I have the newest LL-S batteries on the top of the rack and then the 2 older LL-S batteries. I have a fifth battery at the bottom that is a LifePower4 V1 battery. I've successfuly updated the LifePower4 V1 battery with the latest firmware (version 3.4). I'm using a modified communication cable with just pins 7 & 8 for communication between the 4th LL-S battery and the LifePower4 V1 battery. The pins on the LifePower4 are set to On/Off/On/Off for module 5.

The LifePower4 V1 is still not communication with the other batteries and the inverter. If someone has had success, perhaps they can help me and others.
I have an issue when making the cable between EG4 Lifepower4 V1 battery and a EG4 LL-S battery. I have updated the batteries and made the cat5 cable according to instruction (disable pins 3 and 6). Still not communicating. EG4 sent me a wrong cable but it didn't work either.

Look at thread #40 above. Should discuss the firmware to update to. You will lose RSD for the LifePower4 to communicate. Talk to Kelly at Signature Solar if you need more help as she. Seems to have the most knowledge there.

Did you install the multipack firmware (LL-V2) to the LL-S battery?
