Anyone make their own cable lugs?

I have made my own bus bar using 3/4" L copper tubing and was wondering if anyone has done similar for cable lugs? I'm thinking maybe 1/2" M or N would work fine. Use a vise to crush the end and drill a whole, leaving 1/2-1" length to insert wire to crimp. Thoughts?

Hey guys. This is a great forum and I'm glad to join your community! I have always made my own copper lugs. In fact, I just received my new Renogy 12v 200Ah Gel batteries today. I made these lugs to fit the terminals perfectly. I will be crimping 2 gauge wire to these lugs as soon as my wire arrives from WindyNation

How do you flare the end?

Hi Craig. I have a Rigid flaring tool. I like being able to make my own lugs as I can lengthen the "shaft" when needed

That is exactly what I was thinking making a longer "shaft" if necessary.
A friend of mine actually had me make a pair of these lugs for his battery configuration.

They are very nice Lugs. I assume you're referring to your lugs when you talk about "lengthening the shaft"? When would you ever need to lengthen the shaft of a lug? Guess I don't understand. Thanks.
